The rejection was more for hiding, freezing, and preventing it from leaving the project rather than for changing it to the usual mouse pointers.

This isn't confusing to most people, so I asked a Scratch Team member if this is rejected. There's currently no response, however.

The main reason for it being rejected is because of confusion, don't take the quote out of context.

Hold on, This isn't rejected. Only custom mouse pointers (e.g. made from a costume) are rejected. The normal ones are not.

It's confusing, since it depends on what you think they meant by “change the way the mouse pointer looks”. I have a feeling that was written with only custom mouse pointers in mind, since I don't see any confusion arising from opening the mouse hand or something simple like that. However, I think that changing the mouse type would still technically fall under the umbrella of “changing the appearance”. We should see what a moderator thinks. (Fun fact: When I say “a moderator”, 9 times out of 10 I'm expecting Za-Chary )

I don't think this is rejected, because I linked a duplicate here and Za-Chary closed it as a duplicate instead of closing both topics as rejected. Can we get back on topic now?

Hmm, each operating system has their own designs for the cursor, and the cursor itself can be customised. Perhaps instead, hovering over each option could change the cursor directly

If we're just limiting this to the CSS cursor values (no custom cursors), then I don't think the rejection reason holds; it's fairly typical to change the cursor when hovering over buttons or the edges of resizable boxes, for example, so the built-in cursor options probably won't confuse the user. This'd probably be especially useful for point and click games to indicate what parts of the level is clickable without making it too obvious (so the user has to move their mouse around to find them), though this might encourage non-touch-friendly projects

Perhaps maybe there could also be

Except that it's “set cursor to” and the option names are the ones in CSS
mouse cursor::sensing reporter
set cursor to [default v]::sensing stack
set cursor to [pointer v]::sensing stack //This is the hand
set cursor to [text v]::sensing stack // This is the I-Beam

Actually I'm thinking that it can be an extension
with a red color for blocks
New colors:

I'd rather use the scratchblocks tag btw
