What if Scratch had something where you could create your own original character, with the different styles and animations that famous Scratchers use, and even styles that not so famous Scratchers use?

We could choose, the style of our OC, the nationality, species, hair, outfit, and lots more! People on Scratch have projects where you can create an OC, but those are all spread out and hard to find really good ones. If we had a thing on Scratch designated to creating OC's, it'd be so much easier!
Plus, for those Scratchers that are not as good artists as others (me, im not a good artist, lol) it would give them the opportunity to have an OC that looks great! And for those who aren't as good with animating, you could add different positions, and costumes, like we already have for the sprites in the Scratch library.

coder2045, I asked the SCRATCH TEAM, not you. No offense. And, just because OC's arent the point of Scratch does not mean we cant have an easier way to make them. You know what else isnt the point of Scratch? Designs. Yet, it seems to me like the Scratch Team has created a studio SPECIFICALLY designated to DESIGNS and DESIGNING THINGS, and creating projects with different unique DESIGNS.
Also, if you dont support me, thats fine. I didnt really ask for anyone to support me, just for the Scratch Team to consider, and since you are not on the Team, im fine with you not supporting me.

He's allowed to express his opinion on the suggestion.

Im not mad that he/she expressed his/her opinion, in fact, im not mad at all. Its just annoying when you ask a specific person, or group of people for their opinion, and a bunch of other disagreeing people feel like they have to jump on you. It happens to me a lot, and I am quite sick of it. Can we please not fight over this? And can people just let the Scratch Team answer me, not others who I didnt ask for?

I don't see much of a point to this suggestion. I don't think it's needed.

Then don't post in the Suggestions forum.

You see, these forums are meant for Scratchers and the Scratch Team to respond. If you want a specific group to respond, it's better to enquire on a Scratch Team member's profile.

I think it would be a lot of work to maintain. Updating it constantly to make sure that popular animation cycles are included… Plus, people mace oc creators as projects.

People can share their opinions even if they are not on the ST. Also, just because a member of the ST makes a project doesn't mean Scratch is about OCs.
P.S. Supports and no supports are probably for the topic maker to maybe change the suggestion. Even if 1,000 people support a “Username Changing” suggestion, the ST won't add it because they decided that it would be too hard to moderate.

The scratch team doesn't just consider suggestions, they look at other Scratchers' reasonings for why it would be a good idea to add, and why it wouldn't.
Then, taking the pros and cons that Scratchers gave into consideration, they discuss it internally and decide the pros and cons that Scratchers didn't give. If the pros outweigh the cons and/or the cons can be easily fixed, and if they decide it would be useful for scratch, they add it.

No. Despite its name, Scratch Design Studios (SDSes) aren't all about designs. You simply make a project with a specific theme. You don't even have to design anything; you can simply take some sprites from the sprite library, leave them unedited, and probably also use code from other people (and credit them). As long as it is related to the SDS theme, it can be considered a project for the SDS.

No, that would just make Scratch more of a social media and ruin the creativity.

I'm going to give you a word of advice and that's not to get defensive when someone disagrees with you, it makes you look bad in front of others and it's not constructive. No one here is “jumping on you”, so just let it go okay? Or as I'd usually say - chillllll.

I haven't been on here for a while, because I find it embarrassing. I came back to say I am sorry to anyone that saw me as rude and disrespectful. To anyone that saw me as dumb and immature. I sincerely apologize to all of you. It was wrong of me to say the things that I did, and it was wrong of me to say them the WAY I did. Please forgive me, and note that I will continue to try being more respectful and mindful of my fellow Scratchers opinions.

If its a built in feature to make avatars like Za-Chary's, Paddle2See's, or ceebee's, then this would be an awesome feature.

There are nice alternatives that you might enjoy
Or even better: make your own OC creator IN scratch! I'd love to see it!

Followers? Loves? Favorites? Comments? These are all social media! Also, a built in OC maker won't ruin creativity.
anyways, I support, it'd be cool to have a built-in OC maker to express creativity, this can also help prevent people looking literally hours for the perfect OC maker.
