This is already possible with Ocular, but not many people know about it so it could be a good idea
Ocular ≠ Scratch
Ocular is not created by the Scratch Team, nor is it officially endorsed by Scratch. And anyways, some school districts block Ocular (like mine).
Why would they block it?
No idea, but they do.
Schools block absolutely everything that they think is bad, even if it's not. One day they blocked my useless website for being categorized as games, and, WHERE ARE THE GAMES? ALL THERE IS IN MY WEBSITE ARE NON-FUNCTIONING SCRATCH-TURBOWARP OLD PROJECTS I NEVER FINISHED! That's just how schools are.

they also blocked cubeupload for being categorized as something you should never look up bruh
The only thing my school ever reasonably blocked was github, since many people were using it to get hacks for things like Blooket, etc.

Oh yeah, also, some people might not even know what ocular is, so yeah. Also, this really would make people make useless topics just to get fame just like other people are saying.

Would a topic even get that many hearts if it was so useless?

“And maybe you wont be allowed to ask for hearts” how would that work? would it detect if you say the word “heart”? then simple conversations fall apart easily. will it detect the phrase “please heart”? what if someone's nick contains the word “heart” and you're trying to get them to do something?
other than that, I'd support this. it's a clean and consise way to say “I agree” and could maybe replace “support” in the suggestions forum.

asking for hearts would be against the rules and able to be reported

Oh, nvm then. I'll edit my post. Just a reminder, if you already bumped a discussion topic, then you still have to wait 24 hrs even if it's on the first page.

Here lies a good, nice, amazing, great, and useful bump

I don't think shouldn't be called “hearting” since most people would likely think that you can only heart a post once (similar to hearted YouTube comments)

Support! Ocular has it, so why not Scratch?
↓ What this looks like in Ocular
Let's be honest, making project in Scratch is not easy. We have to make tons of sprites, our computers start getting slow and laggy after a while, and making pen projects is as hard as it can be. But with RNDR, that all changes. Attempted to create multiple times for a couple of years for it to eventually work, RNDR can help you make pen projects, 1 sprite projects, or any project with ease. With RNDR, you can work less with more results. Try today!

The title is about loving forum posts, not topics.

As for the suggestion itself, I think it's alright. I wouldn't be outright opposed to it, but it would be a bit strange.

Projects have loves for one reason: showing people you think a project is good. On the other hand, the purpose behind loving a forum post would be ambiguous. People might love a post because they think it's helpful, or they agree with it, or maybe they don't even agree with it but they like it because of its detail or humor. People would have to explain why they love a post or it would get confusing, which would be weird.

And not only that, a lot of helpful answers would get overlooked. I have seen incredibly short posts from users that work perfectly. @Za-Chary once made a very short post saying something along the lines of, “You cannot change your username.” And @jvvg once made a post that just said, “No.” Both would be constructive responses that answer the question completely, but wouldn't receive attention because they don't have enough walls of text.

Does that make sense?
