A private censor list.
Bump
Support, i have a lot of words/phrases that I don’t like, but aren’t necessarily against the guidelines. IE, I don’t like the word ‘literally,’ but it isn't against the CG to say it. However, I personally don’t wanna see them, so if this was added, it’s would make it much easier to use Scratch(like, when theres a statement such as, keeping the same example, “I literally like pokemon”)

so basically like a personal filtering system? sounds like it could be a pretty good idea, especially since most other sites already have this.
it could help with scratchers filtering out things they may not like (eg. if someone really hates platformers they could filter it out when searching for projects), and filter out things they may be uncomfortable with or have a trigger to.

(#4)
What effect would this have exactly? The only benefit I see here is for Anti-LGBT and similar people to censor stuff like “gay”.
Bad words are already not allowed on scratch. I don’t see the need to censor anything else.
no offense, but not everything is about the LGBTQ+ community. this is supposed to help people who don't feel comfortable with words.

just a reminder that some words have been suggested to be censored (meaning that some people find those words offensive) and the suggestions were rejected (because they weren't offensive enough to censor completely)

They have rejected censoring swere-words which they consider minor. This can effect Scratches child friendly status. Even if you did censor a word like that it wouldn't effect anyone.
if parents don't pay attention to what their kids see, that's a them problem, not the community on Scratch problem. If you don't want your kids seeing “bad words”, DON'T GIVE THEM UNLIMITED/UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO WEBSITES. Scratch is targeted to 8-16 year olds. (yes i edited this to fit my opinion better)

(#6)I'm not so sure why you would want to censor certain words in a project. If you weren't making a cloud chat room (which are disallowed on Scratch), then there is no reason to have censored words. If you can find anything else that such a system would be useful for, I might consider supporting this fully. Only semi-support.
Strong support. Although I probably will not use this, it would be nice if you could censor certain words.
And while I'm here, I would like to bring up the fact that people might block certain usernames. How?@MisterCheese, who has censored the word MrEgg, sees: Hey, whatever happened to @MrEgg?Hey, whatever happened to @*****?
It could get confusing if you blocked certain usernames. But otherwise, strong support.

(#22)Aren't projects that use such words marked NFE? I don't know. They have rejected censoring swere-words which they consider minor. This can effect Scratches child friendly status. Even if you did censor a word like that it wouldn't effect anyone. -Snip-

No, it just doesn't allow you to make that title or they will take it down(#22)Aren't projects that use such words marked NFE? no support. its just ignoring the problem, if you “dont like a word” just tell the person to either stop using it or get it over it.

What “problem” are you talking about here? no support. its just ignoring the problem
1. Many people will not stop using words because you don't like that word. if you “dont like a word” just tell the person to either stop using it or get it over it.
2. Easier said than done.

If someone says, on my profile or any profile or projects that’s not theirs, too stop saying “HeII” then I’m not going too stop because they want me too, it’s allowed if you “dont like a word” just tell the person to either stop using it or get it over it.
And what “problem” are you talking about?
7 year olds parents and teachers not wanting their second graders too see lmao or HeII?

And their very mild and 8-16 would probably already know them anyway
And it doesn’t really affect their child friendly status…I’m pretty sure it’s made clear those words are allowed…
Either way it’s not very harmful if someone sees bad words as long as they know not too use them out loud…
But uh…
That’s my going on random websites when I was 7-now experience…
