They have rejected censoring swere-words which they consider minor. This can effect Scratches child friendly status. Even if you did censor a word like that it wouldn't effect anyone. -Snip-

Would you be able to edit it? How would username links and link links work?
No support until you can convince me to.

I think it applies to the forums too, otherwise it doesn't seem fully functional.

Why'd you snip my post-They have rejected censoring swere-words which they consider minor. This can effect Scratches child friendly status. Even if you did censor a word like that it wouldn't effect anyone. -Snip-
The swear-words they don't censor are words that will appear in books they read in school.
Honestly I see more abuse to this system than benefits.

Some parents would go ballistic if they hear their child swear, and even more so if they said they learnt it off of Scratch. It would loose it's reputation, scratch would be ruined. How could you abuse this system. No-one except you will see the words censored.

I go to a reputable school and the book we are currently reading as a class includes swearing. -Homophobes censoring anything related to LGBT+ (ex. gay, lesbian, trans)
- Other people censoring literally everything to be funny.
- People censoring people's users because they're “mad” at them.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows includes the B word.
One of the books I read in 5th grade included “hell” (but in the context it was in was religious.) The school I attended was reputable.
edit: how did i mess up the bbc i do not know

The “swear words” that they rejected censoring are not defined as swear words by most people, like “frick”, “*”, etc. Those words aren't considered swear words, and are used in media made for children, like TV shows, movies, books, etc. This isn't affecting Scratch's reputation as a child-friendly website. They have rejected censoring swere-words which they consider minor. This can effect Scratches child friendly status. Even if you did censor a word like that it wouldn't effect anyone.

Ehhh, semi support.
Would be cool, but not important. Would let you customise your own filter so that words you find offensive can be blocked, even for discriminatory purposes, since you're not exactly putting down others if you keep that fact private.
Of course, flaunting what you have censored (“I've blocked the word ‘religion’ because I think ███████████”) will always be reportable.

You could just censor someone's username to effectively block them, as you shouldn't be able to see usernames with words you have censored, right?
