Not being able to discuss school? This is getting outrageous. I don't know why after 600 replies, our school thread had to be closed. I would like to know an explanation for this, and not just the usual canned reply of “not a topic for this board sorry make a project about it”.
Yeah. And it lasted for almost a month (21 days or 3 weeks) before being closed (did they not see that topic before?). It wasn't off-topic from the original post, either (like some other topics).

I thought that was a very good discussion, and I think art is in the spirit of “reading and playing”. It's not any worse in its large scope than the what is your favorite book topics and such.

So was that topic just too broad, or is “art” not under the definition of reading and playing?

“Art” is in the definition of reading and playing - it says right underneath this forum "Discuss books, TV, movies, art, music, or videogames that inspire you."

Though I suppose talking about the definition of art is different that talking about art itself. It's not that much different, though…

You know what I think? I don't think a topic should be closed because it says something is bad. We are allowed to express opinions aren't we? If we say we don't like something, that is an opinion. So why should we end discussions because we think something is bad? That's what I want to know!

The “Reading and Playing” forums is for talking about media that you like or inspire you. In most cases, topics putting down something harbors more negative feelings rather than provide inspiration. So topics that are more positive (talking about stuff you like) are encouraged while topics that are more negative (talks trashing something) are not.

Okay, I suppose that makes sense.

I love how you're making this forum basically a school counselor's office, or maybe that camp from But I'm a Cheerleader.

No negative feelings? People have negative feelings. I have negative feelings. You have negative feelings. It's apart of life.

Of course everyone has negative feelings, but how would they be inspiring to you? Making a topic expressing how much you dislike something/someone will only lead to drama.

And it's best to discuss that with a person in real life, not here.

And the more you think about positive things, the more positive you become. So the fact that we can only talk about positive things on here is going to create in everyone a better mental state (unless the person starts complaining about how they aren't allowed to complain about things, of course).

I think I know the answer, but I just wanted to make sure…

Would a topic about your MBTI scores(your personality type test) fit any of the forum guidelines?

I believe it is, as long as you link to a reputable source, and the discussion is positive, not overly dramatic or negative.
