Here, I made a script with some ideas, but unfortunately, it was drowned out in an off-topic-tsunami (that was when people were making unofficial sequels). Could someone please give feedback? (also I have a post at the bottom of page 23)

Before people start animating, could I suggest we use a horizontal res of 864 instead of 640? That's the ratio most cinematic movies use these days.

Also I'll probably wait until I have a more solid idea about what needs to be done for the movie before I start creating more music. I'd be happy to help out on writing (maybe editing) if you need it, I don't really have any experience in that field but I'm sure I could do it fine if I tried hard enough.

I think the moral/theme of the movie should be learning to forgive yourself for past mistakes. That's definitely something that I connect with, something I learnt from developing on this site for the past years.

The kind of counter that the villain (kaj) will show could be that he never forgave Scratch Team for banishing him to the Banlands over 15 years ago and is still dwelling on it, causing him to go insane and want to take over the site with bugs. However, just an idea, but kaj could be posing as a regular Scratcher (maybe on the forums place) under an alias.

If we involve Scratch Team as a character(s) we could make a metaphorical representation of how they are treated online to my understanding. As in, in the media of the Scratch world Scratch Team is portrayed as lazy and incompetent, not being able to find the source of all of the bugs. But once SCratch Cat and the team finally meet them it shows that they are actually much more nuanced, they do other development things for Scratch and haven't had the time to find the source of seemingly insignificant bugs, and they also have personal lives on top of that.

Anyways, back to the main theme, Scratch Cat could be overly cautious at the start of the movie and obsesses over small accidents but by the end he learns to take it a bit easier.

Anyways, that's just me throwing some ideas at the wall.

Continuing on with this idea I had a storytelling idea that would also counteract the awkwardness of me singing the final boss music and also voicing a character at the same time.

Pico/nano or whoever I'm voicing could be some sort of inspirational figure to Scratch Cat, sort of a mentor/big brother relationship. They could be a sort of catalyst to Scratch Cat's character development, of course not saying it directly but it being implied a bit more subtly, perhaps with a recurring object that represents an idea in the plot. Basically Scratch Cat wants to be more like them and realises part of it is letting past mistakes slide.

But at perhaps the start or middle, they are unable to continue/get left behind for a good reason. Perhaps with this we could show what the effects of the bugs are on charcters and how Kaj is using them to overthrow the Scratch Team/society? Scratch Cat is of course sad about this. Maybe really so to the oint that Gobo must learn to be more independant from him setting up a character arc for Gobo?

But of course by the point the final Kaj battle is at Scratch Cat is of course wanting to defeat Kaj, but he soon realises that resorting to fighting would just make him a mirror of Kaj (also tying into how Kaj is represented as a ghost of Scratch Cat) because he is dwelling on the past mistake of someone else. So he decides to forgive Kaj. Kaj just can't understand why Scratch Cat is forgiving him after all he's attemted to destroy and so hides (for an extended time?) becuase of the shame of his actions.

Edit: I forgot to put this here but the final boss theme quotes “Get JASON'D”, the first song I made for a Scratch game. So I'm probably gonna write into the lyrics something relating to the theme like "It was only a memory from long ago.

Also, since I was their voice actor it's kinda like the old character was cheering Scratch Cat on during the song. Can't believe Iforgot to put one of my main points for this entire plot bit being here in the original post :lol:

In the epilogue we could either have Kaj never to be seen again (setting up a cliffhanger for potential sequel/interpretation because that will probably never happen) or eventually get over what he did, even mainiling the Scratch Team that he was sorry for what he did all those years ago and he's astounded at how he's become a sort of cultural figure in teh Scatch community (representing what Kaj did IRL. I think second option is better)

Also edit: I was thinking it would be cool if we had a prologue and epilogue section without any dialogue (and maybe shot in sepia? That would be cool.)

Also just a little idea for the side, we could pull a Giygas and have Kaj be represented as a ghost of Scratch Cat because dwelling on the fact Scratch Team banned him years ago destroyed his body and only a hateful mind was left. Then he takes the form of his opponents.

(Yeah, I took a lot of cues from Earthbound and Undertale)

Anyways, if this gets accepted by the directors, please redirect any writers to this post or any of the followups just so we're on the same page!

Actually yeah! Originally I meant that Kaj was either never seen again *or* he became friends with the mailing thing. But looking back on it it would probaly be better to have best of both worlds. And yeah, that would be really cool! Only potential probalem is that that's a lot for just the epilogue. But then again that probably won't be too much of a problem if it's just explained in the letter.
