If the Oscars were fair, Hundreds of Beavers would be nominated for Best Picture, Best Visual Effects, Best Production Design, Best Original Score, and more.
Deadpool and Wolverine should have been nominated in at least seven categories.
Tbh, it deserved Best Supporting Actor and Best Sound, and maybe even Cinematography.

I very much disagree.

Best Actor for Ryland Brickson Cole Tews and I'm not joking.
Oh, and Best Costume Design! I loved those costumes.

Also it's really awesome to see a body horror pic getting so many nominations. Maybe the Academy finally realized that horror is a good genre?
The Substance is barely horror, it just grosses you out. There's like ONE scary scene.
The Substance is body horror, it's a horror movie. That is its genre. It's still good to see horror and sci-fi movies getting wide nominations. It's still fairly uncommon.
I would honestly call it a thriller. It is “body horror” but it's not SCARY, as horror movies should be, it's gross, like body horrors are. Only by a technicality is it a horror movie. If The Substance is horror then so is, idk, A Quiet Place and stuff, which is really just thriller with different horror elements.

Yet another year where there's one movie so wildly inappropriate and mature that prevents me from seeing all Best Picture nominees.

If Fernanda doesn't win, we riot. If she wins, we riot (but in a good way).

No, the Substance.

Honestly, Wicked's editing nomination is deserved. It's twice the length of the stage show and it's only Act 1, but it never feels like it's taking too long.

“the film's re-recording mixer Cyril Holtz says Gascón, a trans woman, could not reach certain singing registers, so he used Respeecher to clone Gascón's voice and blend it with that of Camille, a French singer who co-wrote the film's music.”

Idk… I know some ppl say it should be a “no tolerance” thing w the use of ai but honestly stuff like this just seems like a reasonable use

The Nominees I’ve Seen So Far:

Dune: Part Two
Emilia Perez
Alien: Romulus
The Wild Robot
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
A Different Man
Wicked
Conclave
Inside Out 2

I hate how so many of the movies have such awful release schedules so it’s basically impossible to see them right now because most movie theaters are only playing the big-budget stuff.
