But scratchr2 pages aint broken, so why make them 3.0? Why? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Ok perhaps the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” isn’t the best option here
But the scratch.mit.edu here ain’t broke, why “fix” it into scratch.fun?
And a point we’ve been telling you again and again: scratch.fun is taken.
And they made it 3.0 probably because the 2.0 interface look outdated or something

takes an incredibly deep breath in
There are multiple things wrong about this suggestion. First of all, scratch.fun already exists and is a gambling website. Here comes the potential problems of people coming to this website expecting the usual gambling website but then getting taken to some random kid's website about programming, or potentially (which is a far worse scenario) kids somehow finding this topic, thinking that scratch.fun would just redirect to scratch and then gets introduced to the concept of gambling at a young age.
Secondly, even if scratch.fun was something like a placeholder page or a "THIS DOMAIN CAN BE YOURS FOR ONLY [[1 THOUSAND]] KROMER" page, .edu domains are typically much more well known and trustworthy. scratch.fun (purely from the domain name, not taking into account that it's a gambling website) looks like a Coolmathsgames-kinda website.

also i suport its fun and it can be scratch.mit.fun and also maybe instead of shanging edu add fun like love and pizza and org
Ah yes, because adding fun to the end of a website domain makes the website very very fun. I am having so much fun right now. I was having no fun at all when it was called “scratch.mit.edu” but now that it is “scratch.fun” I have fun on the website every single day.

Nah, I’m sure ST won’t change it, scratch.mit.edu is a very trustworthy-looking name (by name only, not counting the contents inside), but if you change it into scratch.fun or scratch.happy or scratch.thissiteisreallyfunclickonit or something, chances are people won’t even step near it.

Mind your grammars everyone
But why should we change? And also, .org is for organization I think, I don’t think it has much to do with the purpose of Scratch

(#47)The only thing the org domain url would be giving saying is nonprofit organization, but it doesn't help anything else and likely to just get blocked by schools.

EDIT: Ah yes, domain url gives nonprofit organization, I have grammar…

I forgot everything my I.T. teacher told me about domain names
The .org domain isn’t usually blocked in school, because it is kind of a trustworthy domain, I checked. (Like literally, using my school’s computer a few times in the past)

Fun fact: it is very likely changing to scratch.org.dupe
https://github.com/TurboWarp/scratch-gui/pull/785
https://crt.sh/?q=scratch.org (yes, Amazon hosts Scratch)
Probably it's changing with the maintenance

https://scratch.fun is taken
https://scratch.pizza and https://scratch.love redirects to https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org
maybe something else….
I am not even going to question why scratch.pizza redirects to scratch.mit.edu
There is a forum for that…. https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/topic/703467

there are several holes in this suggestion, and like I previously said Scratch.mit.edu is pretty easy to remember and it rolls of the tongue. Scratch.fun just sounds like a generic game website where you get the flabbergasting opportunity to play “MINE BUILD BATTLE PVP GAME”. And scratch would then be completely blocked in schools because schools would assume it's a game website.
And also, how does adding fun to the end of a domain make the domain “fun”? Personally it sounds really boring and if you look up what “.fun” is used for it blatantly states it's a generic domain name. It doesn't matter if it's cheaper to use (not to mention it is already taken), scratch already seems like it will still last a while because the website, for the most part, does run smoothly despite it being a little low budget.

I think it's a joke since domain names can only be 3 letters or under
