Yes! I love your suggestion too! It would be great to express the desire for peace in the world with a symbol that marks the minds and without focusing on a single event even if it is very important and unfortunate… For all the freedom fights on Earth! A symbol to show that we are attached to be able to live a free life, in peace, where we start by talking, before using our weapons.

There are some symbols of peace, which are listed on page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_symbols. I particularly like the Dove as already mentioned but there is also the “Peace and Love” symbol and the Japanese paper crane. I like the paper crane because I find its appearance rather simple but beautiful, I like to see the paper airplanes flying with the wind…

Yeah, that's such a great idea! I'd like something nice, yet simple. The earlier suggestions would do!

I don't know if there should be one, maybe they could get in trouble with Russia for promoting against them. It's different if someone on the website promotes Ukraine, but it's not official.

Your idea to have an emoticon to represent peace is amazing! I love how you thought about that! As scrolling down, the dove and olive sign, or the earth shaped as a heart (those ideas from other Scratchers) are the ones I liked the most from their suggestions. (That's only my opinion though.) A few of my suggestions for emojis: two hands forming a heart in front of the world, or maybe a sign like this but a bit more creative: Peace Sign Maybe with an earth-like pattern on a sign like that ^^

I still love this idea, but I was wondering… if the forums are powered by a different company (DjangoBB), how would Scratch have the option or authority to insert a new emoticon? Did Scratch create these emoticons, or are they used under DjangoBB’s library?

The forums are largely moderated by members of the Scratch team, so they manage the majority of the forums.

Sounds like a great idea!!! I would want to do one on ukraine but this is a kids site so I do agree with just a peace symbol

1. DjangoBB is a piece of software, not a company
2. Scratch uses its own fork of it.

I agree. I think Scratch could make a huge impact on Ukrainians by simply adding a peace emoticon.

I figured this is a suggestion for a new emoji to be used on the main website, rather than the forums. That way, more Scratchers will likely be aware of it and can use it.

I would love to join the peace sign making, so many Ukrainians are dying, it's all so sad…
