Scratch's Own Image Host for the Forums
This would literally be so useful. I have wanted to be able to upload images (if I am helping someone) to the forums, but the only option is to use CubeUpload or another site, and I don’t want to make an account. This would help a lot! Great idea!

Yes, but those are just subdomains of scratch.mit.edu: doesn't scratch already have a way to use it to host images?
- Why not <insert image host here>?
- Cubeupload: is down frequently.
- Assets: increase size of bitmap images, and is somewhat complex.
- CDN: the image ratio is stuck at 3:4.
- Uploads: is somewhat complex.
- Scratch Wiki: cannot be used as an image host; so you are stuck only using the images used for Wiki articles.
- Photobucket: costs money, but you can have a free plan of 250 images with a watermark.
- Imageshack: costs money after 30 days, and the images will eventually get changed to an advertisement.
- Scratchr: is now a SMS site (it was formerly an official Scratch site), and it seems there is no way to use this as an image host as one cannot upload images on it.
- Scratch: is somewhat complex; you are limited to Scratch's official images.
- Wikipedia and Wikimedia: cannot be used as an image host (because after 7 days of no usage it will be deleted); so you are stuck only using the images used for Wikipedia articles.

The ST doesn't want it to be used that way. Thisandagain said it's doesn't scratch already have a way to use it to host images?“less than awesome”.

Is this rejected?
Even if this isn't the same thing, some of those reasons would also effect this.
9.5 Allow files to be uploaded into forum posts
The Scratch Team would have to pay for storage of these files, and they only have a limited amount of resources to do so. Storage space would be better allocated toward Scratch projects, anyway. There is also the issue of someone uploading a file that can potentially cause harm to someone's computer. Searching through these files would require significantly more moderation work, and there are not enough moderators able to do the job at the moment.

There already is one (aka projects) Support, but my concern is how much it would cost Scratch to run their own image host…

Support.
Even though it may cost a lot for Scratch, it would possibly make the site a bit safer with the forums thing. Scratch is a great online site for kids since inappropriate images or projects get deleted as soon as possible thanks to the ST.
I think that the image host should be human moderated, and your images must be moderated before you can put the link on the forums. In your messages, you would get a notification if your image was approved or unapproved for the forums.
The problem with all image hosts is that the image hosts don't have image moderation, so ST must pay attention to activity on the forums to immediately delete inappropriate images. I think that if Scratch made their own image host, it should be the only one able to be used.

But since scratch runs on donations, if it was the only one used, wouldn’t it go down a Lot?Support.

If Scratch can store millions of projects, they can store thousands of forum images. But since scratch runs on donations, if it was the only one used, wouldn’t it go down a Lot?Support.
