Whilst I think it’s great what your students have produced here and I like your thinking, I think that scratch cat should maybe stay the way it is, as it is OG and has nostalgia to it.

However, this may be good if a lot more scratch sprites were added, so this could maybe be in a costume. Good job!

No support, some people might like it, but some people might think it looks weird and make another suggestion to take it away. Also, a new scratch cat won't come until Scratch 4.0, and Scratch Team only does minor tweaks to the cat, not big changes.

here's my take on the scratch cat with hat.

I honestly just love the idea of it, but I believe the hat should be added in a separate sprite or costume, along with a collection of other hats that are block-themed, and so the whole of the scratch mascot group can have their own hat. (throw a few cat ones in there too. april fools is forever.)
