As much as a good idea this might be, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to turn that upvote for this thread upside-down. It might encourage unfriendly competition to get the higher comment, some memes might get higher ratings than a comment better in quality, etc.
Okay, people might get angry but I gotta sorta agree here. This being added does actually sorta risk tension between other scratchers. That's the last thing we want.
How do I know this? Well, in GD, I use daily chat quite a lot. If you don't know what daily chat is, it's a chat in the daily level that's usually in the comment section of the level, usually filled with some pretty unhinged but funny things. When a new daily arrives, usually, people will fight for that top comment. I've seen it happen multiple times.
I fear that might happen to scratch, that like wars will start to happen.

Also, like beggers. Those suck.

If it was implemented, I feel like they shouldn't show the amount of likes on a comment and not notify you

Lately, I have been seeing some hilarious comments, and I think that people should be able to upvote them.
How about we make the amount of upvotes achieved visible on a profile? But to prevent ‘'upvote trading’' , when you upvote you have to select a specific reason why from a list:'
  • Gave useful advice
  • Clarified an issue
  • Changed my perspective on something
  • I agree with the statement
  • Was a good contribution
Suggest some more below. In a comment , there will also be a drop-down list of all the reasons why it was upvoted. You can report insincere upvotes as well.

Totally agree , 100%
Tell me if there's anything in here you disagree about

Then it would be pointless, since you can't see how many people trust it.

You could always select a random reason. This is not needed.

Also, comments should still be ordered by time, like they are now, at least by default.

Don't forget that Ocular offers this, and so does Git (github), and the issue of like beggers can be resolved with a simple solution: turning off comments, or deleting them.

Also forgot to add that you're able to report those kind of comments. Problem solved!

If the project creator would be the only one to be able to like comments, then I don't think that this would be worth implementing.

I'm pretty sure this means anyone can like/upvote comments.
