“DuckDuckGo makes money in two simple ways: Advertising and Affiliate Marketing. Advertising is shown based on the keywords typed into the search box. Affiliate revenues come from Amazon and eBay affiliate programs. When users buy after getting on those sites through DuckDuckGo the company collects a small commission”
Google makes money by…
“The main way Google generates its revenue is through a pair of advertising services called Ads and AdSense. With Ads, advertisers submit ads to Google that include a list of keywords relating to a product, service or business. … Then, Google selects ads that contain keywords relevant to the webmaster's site.”

DuckDuckGo doesn't show ads. I've been using it for six years and I've never had a single ad.-snip-Interesting. So, what would you say is the better search engine?

DuckDuckGo, obviously.-snip-Interesting. So, what would you say is the better search engine?
DuckDuckGo doesn't track you or save or share any of your personal information. Google does. They sell your data to advertisers, they show you “relevant ads” from all the data they have collected from you, and “relevant search results” from the same information. Plus, Google has been known to show politically biased search results, those tending to favor Democrats. While I myself am Democratic, a search engine never should be doing this. There's plenty of other reasons that Google should be avoided, but I've got to go now-
Unless you want your every move to be tracked and saved, use DuckDuckGo.

If you use an adblocker, look at what has been blocked in the past week. It should be around 70% Google tracking, and the rest is Facebook and other major companies (unless you're being targeted by cryptominers, etc.)DuckDuckGo, obviously.-snip-Interesting. I use Qwant for privacy, so I think this is a good idea. Maybe DuckDuckGo for the US and Qwant for Europe?
