My school IT is good. They let us create our own passwords for everything.

Just found out that my school installed Hapara Highlights. Sounds innocent but it is a Chrome extension to spy on us

Its worse than the NSA (Or the CIA).
Just like lanschool your teachers can see whatever you are doing on your laptop. I just disabled it.

if they were to install that on my computer, i would just reboot to one of my 4 operating systems i use lol. My school's IT hasn't had many issues, they even said i might be able to have my servers on the extra space on their racks!

My school's passwords are {Lastname}{4 digit student id}

Lol. My school installed two Chrome extensions, one is some “Learn to use Google Apps” thing and one is something called ReadAndWrite (not really sure what it is). The former is locked so you can't disable or remove it, but there is a way to disable it inside the extension

This school (I don't go to it though) uses Hapara. The school wanted to clear their cache/cookies because a website wasn't working properly but couldn't because of a Chrome policy disallowing access to chrome://settings…

But the school would say:
School: But it looks random so it's impossible to guess without many tries.

And I respond:
Me: But everyone uses the same format.
School: But why would anyone want to access another students account?

Plus we have a ‘LanSchool Web Helper’ on all computers. It's an extension in Chrome's toolbar with an invisible icon.
ARGH ANOTHER BROKEN SPACE BAR!

That's like the police saying: Why would anyone want to rob another house?

someone who wants to post something on someone else's school account, turn in bad assignments, and anything to get them in trouble. Very few students have the skill and the idea to do this, so there is very little worry, but it can still happen (I wouldn't do this, but i could easily write a python script in like 5 minutes that hacks a school account if i get their last name)

Does anybody ever feel super excited for hour of code until they start by teaching you how to click and hold to drag blocks?
