Wings of Fire
There's this series started reading called 'Wings of Fire'. It's about five dragonets (baby dragons) that are supposed to fulfill a prophecy.
The dragonets in the prophecy are:
Clay (Mudwing)
Glory (Rainwing)
Tsunami (Seawing)
Starflight (Nightwing)
Sunny (Sandwing)
Some additional dragons are:
Kestrel
Mangrove
Deathbringer
Morrowseer
Orchid
Fruit Bat
Webs
Queen Coral
Queen Dazzling
Tamrin
Queen Scarlet
Burn
Blister
Blaze
The different types of dragons are:
Sandwings
Mudwings
Seawings
Rainwings
Skywings
Nightwings
Icewings

Anyway, I just wanted to talk about the series, so post your favorite dragon and stuff like that. See ya!

My favorite dragon is Sunny, or Glory.

switch costume to [Sunny & Glory v]

When the war has lasted twenty years…
the dragonets will come.
When the land is soaked in blood and tears…
the dragonets will come.
Find the SeaWing egg of deepest blue
Wings of night shall come to you.
The largest egg in mountain high
will give to you the wings of sky.
For wings of earth, search through the mud
for an egg the color of dragon blood.
And hidden alone from rival queens,
the SandWing egg awaits unseen.
Of three queens who blister and blaze and burn,
two shall die and one shall learn
if she bows to a fate that is stronger and higher,
she'll have the power of wings of fire.
Five eggs to hatch on brightest night,
five dragons born to end the fight.
Darkness will rise to bring the light.
The dragonets are coming….

looks liek there is a duplicate, https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/topic/175129/?page=1#post-1687574 but it wasn't in the directory (person didn't comment on my thread I guess) and it didn't get very far, so I'll just request it to be merged with yours.

I love Wings of Fire best series ever! My favorite character is Clay but I love them all! Sadly, TOP (Talons of Power) is no longer
planned to come out this summer ( at least that's what I heard)
However Legends Darkstalker will come out!!!!!
Also I support sunnyflight for life even though starspeaker is way more likely.

How do the names work? I've only read book 1. How do they name dragons/how were they named?

How do the names work? I've only read book 1. How do they name dragons/how were they named?Mudwings are related to brown and earth and mud animals, like Auburn, Clay, Moorhen, Newt etc. Sandwings are related to desert things and jewels, the sun, beetles, Ostrich, and Onyx. Skywings are Jewels (for royalty usually) birds, and fire (Peril is a special case, most aren't named after fierce things) Carnelian, Flame, and Peregrine. Seawings are named after water things, Anemones, Tsunamis, Turtles, etc. Rainwings are named after rainforest things, (find out more in book 3) Icewings, cold stuff, Glaciers, Ermines, winter, etc. and Nightwings, weird things, like quailities. If you've read Warriors Cats, the names are sort of like those ones.
