When you see a popular studio, on the comments section, most of what you see is people posting comments about them wanting to join. So I had an idea.
Maybe there could be an option in studios, where you can ask if you can join without leaving a comment. When you send a curator request, it will send a message to a manager, which might say something like this: (Username) would like to curate your studio (studio name). Do you accept? Yes/No
I think this would make it easier to find the people who want to join instead of looking through comments mixed with different kinds of ones. However, as I'm typing this, I can also think of bad things about this suggestion…

Good Things

• It would be easier to see who wants to curate your studio

• It would not send other people messages just to see someone asking to curate. (When you comment, it will send everyone a studio activity message because you commented)

• It would make the comment section on studios much more tidy

• It would make it have a smaller chance of someone not noticing that someone would like to curate

Bad Things

• It would invade the messages of managers of featured studios and popular studiosThere could be a Request section in the curator tab where managers can add them.

• How would someone know if they've been accepted? You'll get notified.

If you know anything else that should be on one of these lists, then please say so. What do you think about this?


Edit: Maybe make it so people cannot ask to curate Scratch Design Studios?
Edit: Or maybe there could be a checkbox on studios to disable requests?

This doesn't sound too bad - maybe you get notified if someone's added you as curator?

Cool idea, actually– I think that would solve the problem of not knowing if you've been accepted. So, if you get accepted into the studio, then you will get a message kind of like: You have been accepted into the studio (studio name).

Sound like a good idea! I would suggest not making it go to their messages, but rather a “Request” be added in the curators tab where managers could click “add” on any user to add them. The section would only show for managers and owners tho.

This is a really good idea as the current system is pretty reverse. The studio people should not go inviting random people as that will cause spam, people who are actually interested should apply to be curator.

The part in Bold needs to be ALL of the managers…

Maybe you can have the choice to do the program or not if the edit above is going to be a problem.

BTW, I support this idea, but it needs some minor tweaks.
