A guide to constructive replies

I think I should make some good tips here.

Make sure that your posts are as straight forward as possible. While it is OK to put some humor into your posts, make sure it is humor that is understandable and try not to use it all the time. It only gets the OP confused. Use proper spelling and grammar to get the message clear. A very vague and ambiguous reply or counter pretty much makes your reply a waste of time since only some can understand it, therefore, not getting the message out efficiently. In other words, get your point out as clear as possible.

The OP also has the job of giving constructive feedback to others- a topic that can't give constructive feedback, replies, and arguments isn't going to work out well. If an idea won't work out exactly the way you like it, just move on, or make your suggestion fit requirements as best as you can- This is a collaboration effort where you can build up on ideas! Acting like a sore looser if your suggestion isn't going to work out only shows that you are being disrespectful, which doesn't turn out so good, right?
Give good descriptions and details. Everyone loves it when you are specific about your suggestion! If the suggestion doesn't need explaining, explain what it does again so people know what you are exactly talking about. In other words, pretend that you are talking to an audience who has never ever heard of your idea. Again, make good arguments and use proper grammar and spelling so that you can get the message out well. An argument or question that isn't replied to results in a “dropped argument”, and the winner is considered to be the last person who presented or answered the argument. Avoid text talk! This isn't a group chat, this is a discussion forum where you discuss about new features for Scratch.

Finally, do not address the topic just to the Scratch Team! You are talking to an audience of billions of the people, and only addressing it to the Scratch Team isn't going to help your suggestion get added. Your job, as the OP, is to convince other Scratchers and gain enough support and attention to convince the Scratch Team to add the suggestion.

Maybe put “READ THE WHOLE POST” on the OP. I really find that disrespectful to the other people.

I think we should add, “Scratch Isn't Social Media” onto the list. While this is true, we already have a large amount of social media like properties- Comments, sharing to the public, and forum discussions to name a few. Saying this pretty much says that we should remove every single social media property that we currently have on Scratch, which most it is needed because it makes us a community, and taking away those properties just segregates us unconstructively.

I think the original creator of this topic isn't online as much, so maybe we should add a new version of this with the ones that aren't included?

I think the main problem is that we aren't listening to this Sticky

I've decided to make a new topic for constructive replies here since the user of this topic here seems inactive…
