Block: Turbo mode <on/off>
How can I control Turbo mode in the latest editor?
I understand they took away the Warp c-block. So, how can I control it other than Shift-Clicking the Green Flag?

Sure, I know that.
I want a programmitic way to do it. So that I don't have to tell people to shift-click the green flag to play some of my games.
I thought we were going to get some block control over turbo mode in 2.0.
Didn't I see some talk about making custom blocks have a turbo option? I could even live with that if we aren't given blocks like:
[Turbo mode (on v)]
and
[Turbo mode (off v)]

BoltBaitOh, there is no way…you'd have to suggest this feature. (Which I support)

stevetheipadThey used to have it, then they got rid of it and I think they're remaking it a different way (atomic procedures or something)BoltBaitOh, there is no way…you'd have to suggest this feature. (Which I support)

They should bring back warp until they finish adding atomic procedures.

But then projects made with warp wouldn't work. But that's same with all other features that get removed, as warned by the ST

See our (forthcoming, later today?) blog post about update w/out screen refresh. (Basically, atomic on blocks you've built). Still to be implemented, but on the list last I heard.

If there was a block controlling whether a project is viewed in turbo mode or not, then it would be a lot more convenient for everyone than saying PLAY IN TURBO MODE or DON'T PLAY IN TURBO MODE. It would also make it so that in some parts of the game, it's in turbo, while at other times, it's not.

Fully support. This would also be helpful if/when a person using the project doesn't understand what turbo mode is.

This would be a good block to have. Also, with this, there should be a fullscreen on/off block.

Support. But there should be a prompt on-screen warning them that they are going into turbo mode incase they have an unstable computer or something.

well then yi will get lots of notifications! And you need to keep pressing ok to remove the notification! There should be a anti turbo abuse. Maybe you can only use it every 10 seconds? :]

We need a turbo mode block. Think of all of those games that need turbo mode, but people don't know about turbo and just leave it. Also, in some games, you can cheat by using turbo mode, which is frustrating when it uses cloud data.
It should be formatted like the camera block, Toggle turbo mode (on/off) and also <Turbo mode?> for putting into operators.
This could be used for games where the terrain loads so that turbo mode is turned on during loading, then turned off afterwards.
Anyone Agree?
edit: this is super old and necroposted on, the run screen without refresh makes this totally useless imo, but you can still support this if you want.

This has been suggested countless times before, and rejected. Sorry, but we don't need it when we can run definition scripts on “no refresh”.

I agree. I also think there should be a block like this:
This way, in dress-up games, when the game starts, you can drag the clothes, but when you're finished, you can't. There is a workaround, but it's easier to put everything in one block.
toggle "can drag" [ v]
