hey, my name’s maven! i primarily use they/it/any pronouns, but i’m pretty flexible (hence the any part) and i’m fine with whatever you’re comfortable using. i am a teenager who enjoys reading, writing, drawing, playing tennis, baking and listening to music! among those six activities, i have to admit that tennis is my favorite. i played doubles one last season, and i can play singles, but i generally enjoy volleying up at the net. unfortunately, i’m too short to play up unless i’ve got a partner behind me, so doubles is my thing! aside from my real life interests, i’m into roleplaying and creating strange little cat characters! this is my fourth main account over nearly five years on scratch. my best friend convinced me to make an account way back when, and we ended up sharing it for awhile before i moved on to my own. i began roleplaying sometime after joining, and it may have been anywhere from a few months to most of a year. either way, i’ve been around scratch for quite awhile. i’ve had only one tss character, and they’re still pretty new! they’re a sign up character by the name of aurelia. they’re just a placeholder character so that i can get the hang of things while i apply for litters. i’m hoping to become more involved in the tss community!

☼ why i want the kit .
i’ve had my eye on tss for the entire year that it’s been open. i considered joining a long time ago, but i never did. there were a few litters that i considered applying for and even remixed, but i never had motivation to wrap up an application. i decided to apply for solstice because of his beautiful design, his interesting family, and his unique traits. in addition to that, i always wanted a falcon cat. aurelia is a loner, which is part of the reason why they’re only a placeholder. solstice has so much potential, and that’s something i want to explore.

☼ why i think i should win .
gee, here come the tougher questions! i think that the best thing i can bring to the table is my dedication. by dedication, i do not mean that solstice will live to be 104 moons old. i mean that while he lives, i will do everything i can to give him a life full of action and plot. i would never want him to grow stagnant. i believe that i’ve done well in this aspect with my current tfcrp characters, enchantdahlia and orphictwirl. they’re both alive and more or less happy, but more importantly, they’re complex. they are not one dimensional and they have personalities that seem to make the choices more so than i, as the rolplayer, do. that’s what i want to turn solstice into, and that’s what i bring to the table.

☼ the kit’s gender and sexuality .
solstice will use he/him pronouns through his younger moons, and from there it will depend on what i feel fits who he becomes. as far as sexuality goes, he will be aroace. this will become apparent to him later on in his life, as perhaps a young warrior or maybe older. he could potentially have a platonic partner in the future, but he will never feel romantic attraction to another cat.

never will the stalwart solstice sway from his path. his relentless pursuit of success and truth means that the road is not often an easy one, but he is a dedicated and hard-working cat. alongside that, he is meticulous in all that he does. it wouldn’t be quite fitting to call him a perfectionist, but he does like to see things done properly and done well. though he often feuds with other cats due to his somewhat callous nature, he is a very forgiving cat who truly tries to see past mistakes. he is quick to offer on chances to almost everyone who wrongs him, with the exception being those who he feels were never really on his side at all. that goes hand in hand with his ebullient outlook. he’s a generally happy cat who enjoys life as much as possible. he is not optimistic, only happy. he harbors no delusions of an easy life or a bright future, for he does see the hardships that lie ahead. he wishes to make the most of whatever time he has before his solace inevitably shatters.

his self confidence allows him to make executive decisions without regret, though some may just call him impulsive. he fully believes himself to be capable of choosing the right option, and as a result, he rarely seeks counsel from any others, even those he trust fully. to be honest, his decisions don’t have a lot of thought behind them at all. he simply reacts. this can prove to be a good thing for him, as he may require such confidence in the face of the iceclan conflict, but it can be an issue when it causes him to dismiss the opinions and feelings of others with little to no thought. he can come off as callous in his actions, which is generally not a positive quality in someone. the unintentional cruelty of his disregard is something that he will eventually become aware of, but do little to change as he views it as necessary. he will seek his own prosperity over that of almost all others. the only exception is his close family, whom he cherishes. they are, however, not immune to his selfish and uncaring tendencies. a key factor of his personality is his undying commitment to truth. he absolutely refuses to tell lies or to mislead others intentionally, no matter the circumstances. he is an honest and guileless cat, for better or for worse. this is caused partly by his own morals and partly by his parents’ positions in the iceclan troubles. he will come to despise any and all who lie to him, and they will be the ones to truly put his forgiving nature to the test. he expects and demands the truth, even while he is too young to truly understand it. no lie will leave his mouth, not even a gentle one meant to console his loved ones. with a tumultuous family and an unstable future, he values transparency and honesty above all else in these trying times. what can be trusted if not his own friends and family?

to call him conceited would be accurate. though he doesn’t care for the divide in his family, it does make him feel as if he plays a special role. that shines through in an unintentional show of arrogance more often than not. in addition, he can be quite vain when it comes to his importance and such. he cares not about being muddy and disheveled, but about being strong and prepared for whatever may come his way. he hates to be caught off guard or to appear weak in front of anyone, but especially his siblings. he doesn’t expect to be the strongest of them, but he does expect to keep up with ease. despite his forgiving nature, he does not stand for any slights or even accidental harm done to him. he’ll accept an apology and turn a new leaf, but he won’t let anything go unchecked. his intolerant ways can further his somewhat bitter exterior. he doesn’t hesitate to snap, and much like with his impulsiveness, he refuses to consider how it may make him appear or how it will affect others. he is graceless in his treatment of others. charm is not among his talents, and he doesn’t put himself out there anymore than necessary. he certainly lacks respect in his actions, especially in his pursuit of truth and his punishments for those how wrong or lie to him. with his arrogance comes an undeniably pompous air. he can be very irritatingly high-handed, and it doesn’t pair well with his lack of grace.

occupation : when he first set off from his home, he’d want to start a business of his own. eventually, he’d come to the conclusion that he’s not a great boss due to the way he carelessly disregards others, and he’s end up working as a right-hand-man of sorts to his roommate! the business would likely be a close to home sort of thing, like a bakery or bookstore.
home : he would grow up in a big city, maybe new york or seattle, but he’d move to a suburban district. he’d prefer a simpler home without a lot of extra space, as he’d live with only a roommate or maybe two. i imagine that his house or apartment would be reminiscent of his home, with lots of souvenirs and childhood artifacts such as stuffed animals.
