So l've recently came across this Scratcher called @TheUncannyScratcher23 As you can see, his username has 21 characters, while the maximum username length is 20. How is this even possible? He joined in December 2022, was there some sort of bug back then?

This is a wild guess, but it could be that they might have gotten their username changed and I guess the ST didn't notice that the changed username exceeded the character limit?

In OLD discussion forum topics, I've seen the character limit for usernames listed as 30 instead of 20, but I'm pretty sure these were back in Scratch 2, way before December 2022. It's possible that formatting your username in a particular way can glitch the code into reading 21 characters as 20 characters and letting it through the character check system, but I doubt it.
