1) ooo! that could be really fun to do!
2) Well, probably somewhere in the first week, right? I think maybe the animal account could be the ones to alert the campers about animals losing their voice, and maybe we then inform the campers of the rebellion? I do think the first few days being focused on the campers getting to know each other would be good

promo projects
sounds good with me! i'll share the acceptance later sometime today then <3
the thumbnail looks lovely, i think we can set up the cabin asap bc camper signups are out in two hours and seventeen minutes :0
animal account
oooh yes that sounds super cool — and hopping onto the second question, perhaps the animal accounts tag on to the “official” notifications that campers are in fantasy

Great! I've been working today on getting the description and stuff set up so all I have to do is pop the thumb in there and we should be good to go! the thumbnail looks lovely, i think we can set up the cabin asap bc camper signups are out in two hours and seventeen minutes :0
Yaaay sounds good! sounds good with me! i'll share the acceptance later sometime today then <3
OOO that would be cool! Like the normal invitation message and then the animal account adds a message onto that? oooh yes that sounds super cool — and hopping onto the second question, perhaps the animal accounts tag on to the “official” notifications that campers are in fantasy
Also just letting you guys know that I linked the Canva for the animation promo on the regular canva- feel free to take a look and move things around and/or add things! (I'm fs not near done- there's something I feel like is missing but I had no idea what ahaha)
Edit: thumb changed! Could I perhaps grab a short intro from both of you guys to put in the description?

AAAAAAHHH mildred that looks absolutely incredible! i'm fine with changing our profile pictures whenever honestly <3
cabin promos
i've just noticed something with the acceptance letter — it seems to imply that campers who sign up for fantasy will 100% be placed in fantasy, and obviously we don't want to spread that misconception. i'm going to hold off posting it for a bit — do we want to reword it so it's more of an invitation, or send it to campers when they really have been accepted?
and as for the music, i'm probably going to do the chorus!
cabin intro
hey, i'm river, your neighborhood gracie-obsessed co-leader! i love indie pop, roshani chokshi's books, and the wonderful world of wicked <3 aside from writing (of course) i also enjoy duolingo, playing piano, and track & field. can't wait to make so many lovely memories with y'all this session — fantasy for the win!!

cabin intro:
hello, hello, hello! my name’s mildred! your local dcmk enjoyer and one of the 13 mei hachimoku fans on earth (please read their books I beg you) I like drawing, animating, reading, and obviously, writing!
I just finished up drawing my pfp! would you guys all like to change your pfps now?
also, I want to start setting up my WCG (mainly the description for now) so what should we make the wcg’s blurb thing? should it just be the campers looking around the location of the WCG?

I'm good with changing ours sometime this weekend! alright! also, once I finish drawing my pfp would you guys all like to change our pfps? if you guys would like to wait until the session starts or at some other time that’s fine^^
Ooooo that's a good point thanks for pointing that out River- maybe we can reword it so it's like “You are hereby invited to join… etc” or “you are invited to apply for” or something? Or we could do what you suggested and wait until the session starts to release it! i've just noticed something with the acceptance letter — it seems to imply that campers who sign up for fantasy will 100% be placed in fantasy, and obviously we don't want to spread that misconception. i'm going to hold off posting it for a bit — do we want to reword it so it's more of an invitation, or send it to campers when they really have been accepted?

Yaay chorus sounds good- just put the audio in an old scratch project and send me the link once you've finished, no rush though <3

Thank you guys! I'll pop that in there now <3 cabin intro:

Also cabin currency! I drafted a list of possible like amounts for each activity completed: (this was actually mostly stolen borrowed from Paranormal which was borrowed from Gothic, so just let me know if there's any numbers you'd like to change!)

Hmmm here are some puzzles I always love! also, any ideas on what possible puzzles could be?
1- Scavenger hunts! (would probably be an animal challenge)
2- crossword puzzles
3- logic puzzles- they're kind of hard to create but a lot of fun to do!
4- riddles
5- nonograms! if you don't know what those are they're like this
I'd also like to work in some writing challenges, like ‘write xxx words about xxx’ or ‘go to the main cabin and ask for a writing dare and complete it’ or something along those lines as well!!
Hmm probably you or me? My reasoning behind this is that if you release it you'd be able to keep better track of pfp orders because they'd show up in your inbox, but I could also release them– thoughts, River? also, who is going to share the project where campers can order cabin merch? the project can perhaps be the dormitories?
The dormitories sounds good!

i'm loving the sound of crossword puzzles, riddles, and nonograms, as well as writing challenges — often, scavenger hunts have additional clues worked in, and like you said, logic puzzles can be pretty hard to create ahaha, so seeing as these puzzles aren't the main focus of the storyline i think simpler ones are reasonable!

Oooo yeah I can see that- I agree with you that several smaller challenges would probably be the best fit for our layout! i'm loving the sound of crossword puzzles, riddles, and nonograms, as well as writing challenges — often, scavenger hunts have additional clues worked in, and like you said, logic puzzles can be pretty hard to create ahaha, so seeing as these puzzles aren't the main focus of the storyline i think simpler ones are reasonable!
Also- what do you guys want to like see/have go on in the final battle against the Wizard? I feel like we've talked about this as a loose concept but never actually fleshed out what would happen, and I think it would be better to start discussing that now so it doesn't sneak up on us ahaha.
So we've talked about the different spells the campers learn at Shiz helping them and making the final battle easier, what would that look like? Would it be something like the campers can use a spell as sort of a ‘free pass’ to help them get out of a certain challenge, or would they use it specifically to make one challenge easier?
I was thinking that this final challenge could be the campers:
a. Learning that the Wizard is behind the animals being captured and losing their voices
b. Having to ‘battle’ the Wizard and his guards- sort of like the end of the first act (or end of the currently released movie) in Wicked, except with a real outcome! I feel like writing sprints and other writing challenges would be a pivotal part of this, as they are easy for many campers to complete and easier to manipulate to fit the storyline!
c. Freeing the animals and tell all of Oz what the Wizard was up to- if the campers are speedy and we have a day or more, I'd love to do like a little celebration thing at the end where all the animal companions like come and interact with the campers and congratulate them- of course this would only be an additional little thing if we have time <3

final battle
i love the sound of writing sprints — kind of like a mini cabin wars thing where we're all racing to defy gravity and the wizard! (i feel like “defy gravity: the final battle” has a lovely ring to it ahaha)
i think we can have the campers learn about the wizard's evils in the intro or maybe a storyline project, and i think it would be really interesting if we give campers a choice to fight the wizard — elphaba doesn't have to point out that it's wrong, but she does bc she cares about the animals! we don't have to do this but i think the campers should get a bit of agency in deciding whether to rebel (and knowing swc they'll mostly make elphaba's choice!)
as for the spells, i think they could be used to make certain challenges easier as well as helping with navigating the yellow brick road — i'm not sure if this was mentioned earlier but i think campers should encounter a bit of trouble (ie. the poppies in the og movie)

OOO I do love that!! i love the sound of writing sprints — kind of like a mini cabin wars thing where we're all racing to defy gravity and the wizard! (i feel like “defy gravity: the final battle” has a lovely ring to it ahaha)
I love that idea! I feel like it would really give the campers feeling like they do have a choice in the storyline, and I think it also ties in with Wicked's themes of like ‘right and wrong’ and determining choices based off of that. The only question I have is if they do decide to not help the animals (which I doubt will happen but always good to plan) what do we want to do? Like I feel like there should still be a final challenge or something to make the storyline seem complete! i think we can have the campers learn about the wizard's evils in the intro or maybe a storyline project, and i think it would be really interesting if we give campers a choice to fight the wizard — elphaba doesn't have to point out that it's wrong, but she does bc she cares about the animals! we don't have to do this but i think the campers should get a bit of agency in deciding whether to rebel (and knowing swc they'll mostly make elphaba's choice!)
Ooo yes I love the idea of spells being primarily used on the yellow brick road! as for the spells, i think they could be used to make certain challenges easier as well as helping with navigating the yellow brick road — i'm not sure if this was mentioned earlier but i think campers should encounter a bit of trouble (ie. the poppies in the og movie)
I have three possible ideas for the yellow brick road, let me know which set you like the best!
a. The campers bridge the gap between where we see the characters in Wicked and where we find them in The Wizard of Oz (like helping Fiyero/The Scarecrow get away from his captors and to the cornfield where Dorothy finds him, help Boq/The Tin Man into the forest, where he eventually rusts and Dorothy discovers him, find The Lion and help him learn to speak or something)
b. The campers play the role of Dorothy and find all the characters and bring them with them to the Emerald City!
c. The campers encounter a completely different and unique set of challenges on the yellow brick road (possible ideas could be something like the poppies, some guards that don't want them making it to the emerald city, etc)

big decision
i think if they don't choose to fight the wizard, we could perhaps have a “final exam” of sorts? (it is a university after all)
yellow brick road
i really like the idea of option three — i think we can easily come up with some fantastical obstacles, and we don't want to spoil too much of the plot ehehe — mildred, what do you think?

I think that'd all be fine! on the yellow brick road there could be a bunch of writing challenges and the amount of words they have to write is less based on spells they have. The more spells, the less they have to write.
perhaps there could also be roleplay activities where the campers have to convince the guards to let them in emerald city as their character

Yes!! Do you guys think this be on a case-by-case basis, a cumulative basis, or a cabin-wide basis? I think that'd all be fine! on the yellow brick road there could be a bunch of writing challenges and the amount of words they have to write is less based on spells they have. The more spells, the less they have to write.
Example (this is just an example, we can play around with numbers and such when we actually finalize the challenges)
The prompt is to write 300 words about xxx topic, and 5 campers have to complete the challenge to move forward. 3 campers have completed the specific spell that would make this challenge easier!
Case by case: The 3 campers who have the spell each only have to write 250 words (or whatever we decide <3), everybody else has to write the full 300
Cumulative: Since 3 campers have the spell, the whole cabin only has to write 150 words each
Cabin-wide: Since at least 1 camper has the spell, the whole cabin only has to write 250 words

i'm liking the sound of a cumulative or cabin-wide format as the case-by-case one makes it much more difficult for campers to become active at the end of the session <3

Sounds good! Yeah I just realized with backup campers and stuff those two would fs be the better option- what do you think, Mildred? i'm liking the sound of a cumulative or cabin-wide format as the case-by-case one makes it much more difficult for campers to become active at the end of the session <3
Also! I finished the basic outline of the cabin promo animation (the first slide and the last slide are going to be the studio thumb in project size!!), feel free to take a look and make edits and stuff- I'm hoping to get it posted by this weekend maybe?
