So, recently I found a way to kick the color inout out of set pen color. It looks like this:

set pen color to [#408C6B]

but without the outline, and it always is black. Here’s how to do it:

1. Put a reporter or boolean in the color input
   
2. Undo (you have to use the undo button, or else it won’t work)
   
3. (optional) Move the block to the stage and back so that it saves
   

Expected: A normal block that does have the color input
What actually happens: The set pen color block loses its input.

Later I found out that this works with any color input, including “touching color” blocks. I also have all blocks in a project (including other stuff not related to this like the _mouse_ trick) in https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/projects/1117012729/, where you can see the weird block for yourself. Or just make it yourself.
