New Scratchers Tips, Tricks, and Topics | A New Scratchers Guide
Hi there, and welcome to Scratch! Below are a few FAQs, and helpful tips for New Scratchers, as well as a brief summary of Scratch status's. At the very bottom you will find some helpful forum topics, as well as a guide to how to use the forums! I hope this helps you navigate your way around Scratch. ^^
- FAQs:
- What is Scratch? - Scratch is an online community where you can create projects, explore projects, and help out in the community! It uses block-based coding, meaning it uses puzzle like blocks to code, rather than actual code.
- How can I become a Scratcher (reach the Scratcher status)? - To reach the Scratcher status, you must be sort of active on Scratch. For example, you must post projects, like and favorite other projects, comment on projects, and explore Scratch!
- Can anyone use Scratch? - Yes. You don't have to meet any sort of requirements to use Scratch. However, people of the ages 5 years - 7 years are recommended to use ScratchJr, a more simplified version of Scratch.
- Is there a downloadable version of Scratch to make projects offline? - Yes! There is a Yes! There is a Scratch App that you can use if you'd like to use Scratch offline!

Scratch Status? What is it?
- Your Scratch status is basically your rank in Scratch. If you're reading this, you're most likely a ‘New Scratcher’. To find your status, check next to your username on your profile! There are two other status's: Scratcher (one step up from ‘New Scratcher’), and Scratch Team (a status only members of the Scratch Team - a paying Scratch job - can have).

It's really nice that you want to help out with a guide! However, we have a number of them in the forums already and we don't have a good way to showcase any more. If you want to make a guide in a Scratch project, that would be fine. You could advertise it in the “Show and Tell” section too.
There are lots of other ways to help out in the forums too. Helpful Scratchers are always welcome in the “Questions About Scratch”, “Help With Scripts”, “Requests” and other sections. Just look around and ask questions
