I don't doubt some of the apparent benefits - like preventing inappropiate content from being added to the report backlog as to allow staff to work through it - but I believe this would instead cause more disruption and confusion than any benefits it would offer. Also, this would just defer any problematic content from being reported. If a malicious user wishes to post inappropiate content, they could just wait a day and still do it.Scratch team has stated multiple times that they are understaffed, and innapropriate things still get on the front page sometimes (it happened just a few days ago!) If we have a day of downtime every once in a while then they will have time to get things done. The scratch team is having literally no issues with reports right now. I haven't seen a single inappropriate project, comment, studio or forum. Tbh, you can only find it if you try.
I also have to say I am aware that there are anomalies, like the one you mention, where content is not taken down in time - but these are rarities. I feel the disruption of the “clean-up day” would cause more backlash and issues (such as users being potentially malicious in their response to the announcement of the day). This website does not suffer from major issues with malicious users that would warrant the urgent need for a whole day of inactivity:
only three cases that has ever really required this in the entire history of doing reports. The other couple million reports that we've resolved over the years we're resolved directly with the Scratcher, or with an adult speaking on the Scratcher's behalf for the more trickier cases. (Link to post (2014))Yes, but whether or not a report requires for the Scratch Team to notify law enforcement depends on the case involved. There have been
At the end of the day, I don't see any need for a clean-up day - it would mean negatively impacting the experience of the majority of Scratchers who use this website to create, engage and learn, whilst offering very little overall benefit to the Scratch Team.

(#10)Idk why i used my fingers to type this, so ignore what I said
Oh no it is such a bad day i use scratch to communicate with my support friends about and how hard it is to but scratch is down for seemingly no reason.
People use scratch for this by the way
And here's a helpful answer: just pause reports

maybe if the scratch team can't keep up with the reports, then this would be a cool idea, but if the scratch team has a little amount of reports to go through each day, then this would be a bit useless, wouldn't it

i don’t think the amount is even close to “little” maybe if the scratch team can't keep up with the reports, then this would be a cool idea, but if the scratch team has a little amount of reports to go through each day, then this would be a bit useless, wouldn't it

the “little” amount of reports in question: maybe if the scratch team can't keep up with the reports, then this would be a cool idea, but if the scratch team has a little amount of reports to go through each day, then this would be a bit useless, wouldn't it

this whould basicly make one day a month for modifyers to review reports so they can catch up on them
during this scratchers can still log in and view shared projects comment but won't be able share projects or make studio
pros
1 st modifyers can catch up on reports
2 st can work on bugs
3 people love it when the bugs are gone

1. the mod team definitely won't be able to catch up on every report from the past month in a single day in the first place
2. the st can already work on bugs, the moderation team is completely separate from the bug-fixing team so this would not help
3. people probably wouldn't love how an inappropriate project could stay up for a month without being noticed by an st member, traumatizing thousands of kids

i thought the whole point of this topic was to make the mods only review reports one day a month? reports will still be viewed
anyway, the second issue i mentioned would still apply:
