also scratch is a kid's coding site not a democratic nation
Votes don't really help the ST know why something should be added. Just because it has more popular demand than another feature doesn't mean it's more worth adding for everyone. Even when you have to add reasoning to your vote, people can use that to spam. I think we're better off with the Suggestions forum as we have now. Besides, if these votes are just preselected features, then how would the ST know to add other things that weren't on the poll but that another user suggests and that user's suggestion is actually more beneficial and useful than the ones in the poll?
as always i have to edit it but king of the page

“Make Scratch blue again” is voted for by each of these users.
Scratch is blue again, and it's hard for colorblind users to read anything.

Let's say 51% of users want Scratch to be blue again. (This isn't necessarily true, it's just an example.)

I think necessary features shouldn't be brought up to a vote.

Yeah, most people might not understand the design goals of Scratch and the practicality of every feature. Let's say 51% of users want Scratch to be blue again. (This isn't necessarily true, it's just an example.)

51% wouldn't be counted as a majority, 3/4 minimum, and the devs would have the final say Let's say 51% of users want Scratch to be blue again. (This isn't necessarily true, it's just an example.)

9.6 Polls in the forumsSome Scratchers have suggested optional polls that could be implemented into forum threads so users can vote on a particular suggestion, state that they experience the same glitch as someone else, or for other reasons. However, the Scratch Team is less interested in polling results and more interested in constructive posts on the forums. Although polls could theoretically reduce the number of unconstructive posts, they likely would not help Scratchers think constructively and write constructive posts. This suggestion includes polls that Scratchers can create themselves, as well as pre-made polls.

This looks like it's only for polls in the forums. This suggestion might be different. this is basically a poll with a given reason, which is rejected.9.6 Polls in the forumsSome Scratchers have suggested optional polls that could be implemented into forum threads so users can vote on a particular suggestion, state that they experience the same glitch as someone else, or for other reasons. A support button on the forums is not at all what this is. I had a similar suggestion (a support button on the forums) and that got rejected

(#33)The ST would choose the suggestions that are choices.
What if the Scratchers vote something dumb?

The ST (probably) wouldn’t add it. What if the Scratchers vote something dumb?

That kind of defeats the purpose though. The ST (probably) wouldn’t add it. What if the Scratchers vote something dumb?
If they could do that, why don't they just add the features without the vote? The ST would choose the suggestions that are choices.

(#36)Prioritization. Like the mob vote in Minecraft.
If they could do that, why don't they just add the features without the vote?
Oh. Just realized that someone already said that.

Yeah, because that doesn't help the developers see why something should be added and what pros and cons the community sees, just like a lazy poll.(#28)I had a similar suggestion (a support button on the forums) and that got rejected

The ST always gets the final say. But the idea is that they could ask us what we want first.
