MENUS AND UI
Currently unavailable
The menus are ui help build the environment for the player and make the game feel much more lively. Many of them include animations when interacted with and are not just a simple button click-n-vanish. This project will mostly be using already existing presets from the original Battle Cats, but because Scratch uses a 4:3 stage border for the project player, they will have to be adjusted to fit accordingly. The menus and ui included in this game but not limited to are: the main menu, the Cat Base, the battle engine and the settings menu.

How much time commitment are you willing to put in?: Moderate
How confident are you in your own job? (1-10): Playtester 8, manager 7 engine 5
Why would you like to apply?: I like the battle cats a lot and play it a good amount (Just got past walk of fame). Also, I want to know about the manager role a bit and if it's taking people. I can probably handle the money and deploy system but maybe not the hitboxes for units.
Are you following this topic? (you must): Yes

hey sorry is this took a bit to get back to! you should have a reply on your profile

New job ideas: (I want to be part of the suggester team (past experience))

SUGGESTER
This will require past experience (of course) but this job is a special job. You could use forum threads in the Suggestions forum to show off your past experience. Also, the suggesters will suggest new ideas that are exclusive to the Scratch port and have never been in any other port of the game.

CO-PLAYTESTER
Co-playtesters act like regular playtesters; except they improve reviews from regular playtesters.

ARTIST
Artists will take ideas from Suggesters; you must give past experience of art in Battle Cats style, and it is required that the images are drawn in Battle Cats style. Plus, it is required that you draw the images in the vector editor.

i’ll bring your suggestions up:
  • suggester is a job so simple this isn’t worth applying for. outsiders should be able to suggest ideas as well. playtesters are also already crucial suggestion makers
  • a sub-job of a job where its only purpose is to improve reviews? that’s not worth the effort
  • i did consider artists in the beginning but i really want my version to be faithful to the original battle cats. for now i am going to stick with the spritesheet art, but maybe i can change my mind in the future.

(Btw this is my first time using Discuss Scratch)

I know that you want to make a faithful battle cats recreation but I think new ideas would be great.

For example, my long time idea is to add heroes to the scratch addition of the battle cats. Heroes would be control using the arrow keys and certain other keys for attacking and abilities. Heroes would be able to walk up to an enemy but stop at 50 range from that enemy allowing for strategic piercing while not allowing major stage cheese. Heroes would tend to have much higher stats than that of a regular cat and also be more expensive to deploy as well. Heroes will replace the cat base and as such losing the hero will also lose the battle (heroes can't retreat behind where that cat base was). You can always see how much health a hero has. Most heroes will be able to regenerate health over time (how much depends on the level). Just like regular cats heroes will have a knockback count, speed, and will stop moving while attacking. To promote multitasking, you can keybind the cat loadout so depending the screen size you don't have to wildly move your mouse for the most optimal strategy.

Uhh… Thanks for reading!
