What is the origin of the platformer cube?
It probably came from some random platformer, and then people realized that it would be the easiest way to make a player, so they started using it. Every platformer on trending uses the same sprite. Where did it come from?

What is the origin of the platformer cube?
Which was shared on June 15, 2020. @StratfordJames' Mystic Valley.
However, there is this project that was shared two months prior, on April 23, 2020. Considering it too uses the generic platformer guy, you are wrong.
And then you have @griffpatch's Generic Red (link: https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/projects/292297781/ ), which was made a year earlier, in 2019. And it was made because he had been working on a YouTube tutorial about how to make generic platformers.

why do people keep making generic platformers and also why they get hundreds of views as if it's a new thing in scratch?
i mean it's not even funny playing anymore
and they do this same cube and grassy background and spikes with the text in middle of the screen

We're talking about the black gradient square with one eye, not the square with two eyes.Which was shared on June 15, 2020. @StratfordJames' Mystic Valley.
