Direct Messaging [SOLUTION]
This is linked on TOLoRS as not rejected, for this is a solution.
Private Messaging is rejected—And I have thought of a solution.
Two scratchers can direct message each other, but other people can see their messages, therefore it’s not private and it’s reportable by everyone, and visible to everyone. But other people who are not in the chat cannot send messages there, except for moderators.
Scratchers will be able to turn chat requests on or off, similar to comments. They will also be able to create group chats.
None of the scratchers in the conversation can delete or edit their messages, as that could lead to private messaging.
This will be especially useful for collaborations.

What, no? Reporting will work like it does with normal comments? so … we're outsourcing moderation to users?

Direct Messaging [SOLUTION]
No support. This isn’t really a fix. It’s just as easy to comment on a profile as it is to talk to someone with this feature. It would just be extra stuff for the scratch team to add (that won’t be added anyways because nothing big in suggestions forum is ever added) that won’t really benefit anybody.

The point of private messages is it is private. This defeats the purpose, just use profile comments, or go on an alt where nobody looks and talk there.

There are benefits to this; One of which being that others cannot interfere.

well then it isn’t direct/private messaging anymore
direct messaging means it’s sent straight to a person and is the equivalent of private messaging (by the internet)

I suppose yes, but we’ll call it DMs because it technically is direct—Just not private. Just a restricted group chat of sort then

Why? Why do we need this? If someone posts a comment in the middle of your conversation with a user, you can just delete it. If they repeatedly spam it, use Contact Us. Most decent users won't post on your comment thread anyway if you state that you don't want anyone except you and the second user posting on it.

Direct Messaging [SOLUTION]
Never in my life have I had a very important conversation that needed to be interrupted, but “No support,” is not really helpful, so, respectively, could you please answer my questions before I consider to support?
1. Have anybody interrupted your conversation before? If so, on which occasions?
2. What if people use the “group chat” feature to exclude scratcher they don't like and/or want in their conversation?
3. How would this, physically work? Would you “flag” a conversation as private? Or would you invite people to your chat, similar to a studio?
Also, consider this post. Nobody “interrupted” their chat about their collaboration.
