So I got an idea,
*the “view forum profile” button will only be visible to people who have posted atleast once on forums
What if we had forum profiles?
Basically, when a user goes on your profile from any link or redirect, they’ll go to your scratch profile. And on the scratch profile, above hour username there will be a link like this

And when you click the link it’ll open your forum profile, the forum profile will look like this
What the forum profile has
- Link to scratch profile
- Username
- Signature
- Scratch join date
- vague number of forum posts (100+, 500+, 1000+, 5000+)
- Recent forum posts

Question:
Correct, i do not have 2763 posts. that is an example number if your in the osc, its a bfdi reference too lol
Question:
While ocular is a useful site, trusted by a few ST members, it's always better to have a feature on the real scratch website.
Za-Chary explained it well:

Your right I don’t have 2763 posts, because that’s just a random example number you don't have 2763 posts, also ocular? just use ocular? why can't ocularnot so random if your a bfdi fan
And i never heard of ocular until you just mentioned it, I googled it and it seems to be a scratch search engine created by scratchers. That isn’t much convientent because many don’t know about it and it’s much better to have a feature in the real website instead of using a tacky external website

Will this be optional? Because what if someone doesn't want someone else to look at their posts?
Also, “joined scratch” under the signature isn't necessary as the date is on your profile if you hover over it (PC only).

most st members trust ocular in the guide to finding dupes its mentioned https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/discuss/topic/285904/ it also has a secondary signature. why make a gui when one is already here. most forumers know ocular.Your right I don’t have 2763 posts, because that’s just a random example number you don't have 2763 posts, also ocular? just use ocular? why can't ocularnot so random if your a bfdi fan

I wouldn't go that far. Probably at most 4 Scratch Team members would currently use Ocular (the rest don't interact with the forums and thus have no need for Ocular). Most Scratch Team members probably don't even know Ocular exists. most st members trust ocular
There are obvious benefits to making a feature on Scratch that is already unofficially made by a Scratcher: if the Scratch Team makes it, then more users will trust it, more users will be aware of it, those who have access to Scratch will automatically have access to the feature, etc….

Some times being more convenient is worse, there could be less features or it just because an inconvenience to have it being “convenient”

It's not like scratch would ruin the whole thing. i think if scratch made this, they would'nt have it have less features and wouldn't make it “inconvenient”-snip-it's always more convenient to have a feature on the main website

Ocular is neat and it works well, but it shuts down often, and it's not always good at finding old topics, but this would work much better for dupe-finding and looking for old forum topics you've created. This would be useful for multiple reasons, like searching for an inactive topic and discussion, or an old forum post that hasn't shown up in the forums.
