what makes you think it's unnecessary? having it around for when you need it is better than taking the long route by deleting comments one-by-one

Bump.

I think someone like griffpatch would benefit from this hugely - he did tell Paddle2See that he was getting a gateway timeout trying to load his profile. I think it was due to the years of spam comments piling up on his profile that did it. I did tell him on a couple occasions to delete comments, but oh well.

Anyways, I had another thought that would improve upon deleting comments. That is, if you can choose to delete all shown comments (not hidden ones), so that you can delete a whole lot, delete some by hand and still keep some comments that you deem important.

Okay, never mind about that. xD back on topic, I think that this would be a nice feature (although I can't see myself using it). However it shouldn't be anywhere as easy to click - I think that you should have to type in the password of your account to activate it.
