delete all comments on profile thingy

we need a button that allows the profile owner to delete all comments. it could be under the comments header on profiles or in Account Settings. it will be faster than having to load every comment and delete them one-by-one. before one could accidentally delete their comments, there will be a confirmation window:

optional: some say that a precaution against wrongful use of the button would instead be entering your password.

thanks

Uh… in what instance does anyone want to delete all their profile comments?

Support anyway.

No support!

This makes it way too easy for somebody to do something that they would most likely regret later. xP

1. no smilies. = being silly/not taken seriously
2. they = he/she. they is never a single person.
3. will regret as opposed to might regret? your post begs absolute certainty when there is no direct evidence.

Well that has nothing to do with my argument with my post… but okay, I edited it a bit.

Perhaps you should google “they definition”.

assume the following:
- I have 100 comments on my profile
- they are all independent threads
- internet connection is strong
- server responsiveness is consistent

if I conventionally delete one comment every 3 seconds, that would take 5 minutes (300 seconds). that would be the equivalent of sending 100 requests to the servers which, on a large scale would mean larger traffic. additionally, if I were to hurry it up, I run the risk of accidentally reporting a good comment (the report button and delete buttons are right next to each other)

if using my comment-purging suggestion, all comments would be deleted in a single request, so about 3 seconds give a take a few more with searching for them. less requests = less traffic. less traffic = faster server responsiveness.

They can be used for a single person, especially when you don't know their proper pronouns…

Support. A lot of people use their profile page mainly for chat, so it makes sense to clear it out sometimes.

I don't see any reason unless people want to be a site of drama and clear all of their comments/following/faves/projects just to get a lot of attention.

I think that it should be inside of profile settings by the clear account option though so that newbs wont click it. Support for that.

Y U HAVE NO RESPECT FOR PROFILE COMMENTS??? xD

Anyway, support, but I think that it should say “Are you sure you want to delete all your (#OfComments) comments?” That way I can click it and it shows me how many comments I have…

Okay, never mind about that. xD back on topic, I think that this would be a nice feature (although I can't see myself using it). However it shouldn't be anywhere as easy to click - I think that you should have to type in the password of your account to activate it.

No, I mean why would anyone want, at any time, to delete all their profile comments?
