Discourage “Support for Reasons in OP”
If you post here you are obligated to start it off with “Support for Reasons in OP
i don’t think this is a dupe, and couldn’t find one.
So, in a lot of posts, looking at suggestions, users will reply pointing to the reasons in the OP.
Now, sure, every does posts which are partially useless, or not highly on topic, for example, correcting another post on a technical matter.
But, in suggestions specifically, these should still bring something new to the table. Just stating you believe it’s a good suggestion due to already listed reasons doesn’t add anything. It’s just looking for a reason to make the suggestion a ballot box.
I believe these posts should be strongly discouraged, or even better, banned.
So, how do we discourage it? An announcement post saying not to do it.

This ALSO isn’t constructive, as it’s just piggy backing off another’s point.^^ Y’know, I think this should be added. It just makes the ST’s job more difficult by filling up a suggestion!

I've noticed an influx of this in the newer “generations” of forumers. It feels to me almost like a form of post grinding. The support convention itself isn't that good in the first place and this is even worse…

I'm joking lol, I really agree with this suggestion. It pretty much is just spam and unwanted. However quoting somebody and saying “^^” can have an exception if you want to basically bump the post and it's buried in.

Joking aside, I agree with you - Been seeing it more often and it's really just unconstructive as you are doing nothing but saying “I second this.” without adding onto the original point and you are indeed just piggybacking.

This should probably extend to other things like just quoting somebody and saying “same” “ditto” or the like, and probably just saying “support” or “no support”.

At least the support convention has been mostly mitigated so users should provide reasons, but even that is kind of stupid to begin with. Suggestions don't need opinions, they only really need criticisms and feedback

Suggestions do also need opinions, in the sense that the opinion of scratchers in general is important. However, opinions dont need to be repeatedly stated. (For example, on a topic suggesting darkmode, it would be useful to know that “many scratchers wants darkmode”, but not so much to know “I want dark mode” “same” “me too”) At least the support convention has been mostly mitigated so users should provide reasons, but even that is kind of stupid to begin with. Also most criticism/feedbacks are opinions lol

It's my understanding that such posts are not constructive. Maybe you can Report them already? I'm not sure if I ever have, because I'm a little unsure of the rules myself. But it may be worth asking a moderator.

I was about to do the joke but everyone else has already so
Also doesn't one of the stickies discourage it already?
And how would it even be implemented?

This has become extremely common, and I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed.
One of the stickies actually does discourage this but no one seems to listen to it

any other alias you can find. It is just copying what the person before said before, and saying the same thing twice isn't going to help the discussion nor the idea. Try to add your own, original idea to make it a better idea!Don't simply quote somebody, or do ^^^, or “As per this”, or
