New blocks: AI

AI blocks are blocks that run on chat GPT. I hope you like these blocks!

eh
kinda takes the fun out of coding it yourself
and also i dont think scratch wants to be held accountable for the actions of an ai in case it says something messed up

AI is much more complicated that this, you cant really handle ot with 4 blocks.

Wait you can give GPT a job?!

I wish to inform you that this is not how ChatGPT works lol. It can't really do any of this stuff, and it wasn't meant to be this silly

1. Where is your anit-AI argument?
2. What is so bad about AI?
3. You can't just call people who like AI “not sensible”. Some people really enjoy AI, like me. It's fine to like AI, it's not like a political thing or anything.

there was a suggestion on an AI helper and his argument was about how AI can't scratch. (I think)

  1. Scratch needs an API key, which can be extremely costly for a website with millions of users.
  2. It's very easy to bypass any ChatGPT restriction. For example with purple app's chatbot Clyde which adapted itself to your group chats, the bot was supposed to not swear but with enough trickery you could get it to spam offensive slurs. They removed it a few weeks ago for that exact reason.

and if they use ChatGPT they can easily jailbreak it and do weird stuff with it

People can like AI. I, personally, am the strongest supporter of AI you will ever find. Everyone has their own opinions, and making an argument isn't going to change that.

As for the user's post, I do think it's a great idea- however, it simply cannot work with Scratch. Not only can it be easily abused, as some users have pointed out, but it'll take too many resources (whether that be money or training) for Scratch to run. There's a reason bigger companies tend to use AI- they can afford the servers it needs. Oh, and they aren't geared towards kids, who might see some bad things appear due to a slip of its systems.

’anit’-AI argument
easily abused
they’re not calling the people who like it not sensible, they’re saying that the people who suggest and support adding AI to scratch are not sensible, as stated in the link above

Ok, so one thing a lot of people don't get is that AI isn't inherently bad. It's not like its entire point is to undermine creative people and be controvertial.

Nevertheless, this doesn't sound like a good idea, AI might produce a LOT of moderation issues on Scratch where it comes up with something thats a no-no on kids website. So overall this doesn't sound like a good idea.

This, combined with API costs, combined with the potential for it to say something inappropriate (AI has no filter, as it has no idea what that even is), Is why I don't support. Someone could as how to do a CG bypass, and it could tell you.

If you're struggling with coding, there's millions of tutorials online (and on Scratch) that can help you

surprised it took me this long to respond to this topic, considering yknow

I think AI blocks in Scratch would be a good idea. It has tons of potential, plus the AIs are pretty well-censored nowadays anyway. Cost will be a real problem however.

This simply doesn't seem like a good idea to me. ChatGPT and other AI tools, while they seem to be well-moderated, are still exceptionally easy to break. I've gotten ChatGPT to say something that clearly violates its own moral standards more than once, even on accident. There are a million more problems I could go into here, but this is the most pressing. ChatGPT cannot be safely added to a kid-friendly website without some bad stuff happening. Simple as that.
