It's not just cloud logs, it's cloud variable saving in general. Cloud variables can still send data between people currently viewing the project, but if you refresh the page, they will revert back to original values that the project was saved with, just like normal variables.

It may have been some kind of bug that caused it to go down

Maybe the Scratch Team is attempting to fix a bug where people could send unmoderated chats with any project and view them with the cloud monitor.

A little worrying since this has been going on for over a week now, I believe.
And knowing how busted the trending page has been for the past several years I have doubts it will be fixed anytime soon, but better to not be negative.

Scratch Team is about innovating new features to their website (recently the contrast blocks).

They do NOT care about updating other issues, and broken assets (including breaking Scratch to create things such as the red hat block). That is why the way things are around here.

And also, the engineers still gotta keep a truckload of garbage up, so just saying it laziness with impatience is not gonna resolve anything, not to mention layoffs.

A while ago, cloud logs actually had an issue where you could send unmoderated chat. That wasn't patched yet if I remember correctly.

This could be a temporal hide of the logs, or unintentional. Either way, I get it might annoy ya, but ridicule is never the answer.

I was merely making a point. Without such people as the Scratch Team, or even Mitch Resnick himself, Scratch wouldn't even exist. Whatever you consider this “innovative” to a point where he's helped kids learn to code is a thing. As to how “active” their offices / staff / business has been as of late, well that is a whole different story.

So that's why the cloud variable logs are down for my dot collector project, I thought it was just me!

This does explain a lot… it may also link to new Scratchers or being able to access accounts somehow(New Scratchers can’t edit cloud data), as I now several people who have been New Scratchers for over a month and a half.

This seems to be the most related point that the topic makes:

And that's well before the cloud logs went down in October. The ST still haven't made an announcement regarding the cloud log downtime

Cloud variables are currently broken. All we can do is wait for them to be fixed.
Unfortunately, no one knows when they will be fixed, how to fix them, or why they're broken.
This affects every Scratcher, so the Scratch Team is aware of the situation. They are working on a fix.
