I'm not sure Scratch would need this. We already have a paint editor where you can create your own art, and if you want AI art, there are already so many websites that can create it for you.

No heck no-
Have you ever seen “AI art drama”? While people who don’t know how to draw may find this useful, but actual artists here would strongly disagree. You already have a costume editor, and there are so many websites for you to make AI art.

why is this relevant?
is there a specific reason for this?
and scratch is a kids coding platform.
read more about why this would be rejected
EDIT: no support

What if the user isn't good at drawing, and what if they don't have access to websites that can create it for you? I'm not sure Scratch would need this. If they should just learn to draw, then why do they even have the sprite library?

Because the things in the sprite library are much simpler than an entire drawing, and because they are more usable in projects than an entire drawing. If they should just learn to draw, then why do they even have the sprite library? Then LEARN to draw

Because when they do not know how to draw something, they can just reach for a sprite in the library, not an expensive ai image generator that may or may not generate the correct imageBoo!Then LEARN to drawWhat if the user isn't good at drawing, and what if they don't have access to websites that can create it for you? Absolutely not. I’m not even going to bother getting into that. Maybe you should just… make art with your own two hands instead of letting a robot do it.
This whole AI thing is so stupid, people that do this because ‘it’s easier then actually making art’ have no concept of fun, and it’s not even real art, it’s just some robot mashing a bunch of stolen art it found from other actual artist with talent together

I am heavily against posting AI art, but I'll try to be unbiased here.
1. It might be too much for scratch to handle.
Even if someone isn't using it, it can easily lag the servers, making people who already had a hard time loading scratch unable to use scratch. Period.
2. NSFW content
It would take a long time to fully flush out all the NSFW and the AI may make something unsuitable for a child to view
3. Stealing
If there were AI, there would easily be more stealing in art competitions and such. It's unfair to the actual artists. Not to mention, where would the AI pull the images from? Other artists. That's kind of stealing a bit. At the very least, some people consider it stealing
4. Do it yourself
This is a more biased opinion, but if you want something drawn cooly but you can't get your ideas into a drawing, then learn. Or get someone else to do it. The sprite library is a good starter and doing it yourself can be more rewarding
5. Too much controversy
Many, many, MANY artists would be upset about this, including me. Many arguments would spark up, and it's best if it's just never introduced at all. Scratch wants a safe place, not a controversial one.
Scratch doesn't need AI. It's a coding website. It promotes art and music as well, but it's more coding at the end of the day. Not to mention, it's better to PROMOTE people to make art, not just shove a prompt into an AI.
