I felt the same way initially, but going back, it's actually pretty cohesive. It never frames the dots themselves as a bad thing, always the people using them.

Plus something is probably going to eat them now as of the end of the episode
But I definitely think that the episodes are getting better over this season. These last few have really felt like we're really getting into stride
