Ban Picrew links (please read the whole thing before saying support/semi support/no support)
https://trends.builtwith.com/websitelist/Google-AdsenseWhat would be an example of a site that uses Google Ads and is allowed to link? Picked uses Google Ads, IIRC. As such, using this logic, we should ban any site using google ads.

hmmYouTube has much more utility to the average person than Picrew and the ads are generally videos instead of images, which might be moderated differently.
https://trends.builtwith.com/websitelist/Google-AdsenseWhich of these can be linked on Scratch?

I believe all of them, as it isn’t necessarily against the cg to link sites.https://trends.builtwith.com/websitelist/Google-AdsenseWhich of these can be linked on Scratch?

Yes.Have you been on YouTube ever?hmmYouTube has much more utility to the average person than Picrew and the ads are generally videos instead of images, which might be moderated differently.
But it is against the CG to link sites that have inappropriate content, such as Twitter. One site that I immediately see on that list that would likely not be allowed to link is foxnews.com.I believe all of them, as it isn’t necessarily against the cg to link sites.https://trends.builtwith.com/websitelist/Google-AdsenseWhich of these can be linked on Scratch?

that's the fault of the site makers, overall, picrew is a sfw site as far as I know most of you might have inappropriate ads on picrew
i'm getting these ads, and i'm using a school chromebook so i can't install an adblocker to get rid of it
(can't post an image because i'm a new scratcher, if anyone is getting ads like that can you post it)

Than, you know what ads are there, right?Yes.Have you been on YouTube ever?hmmYouTube has much more utility to the average person than Picrew and the ads are generally videos instead of images, which might be moderated differently.
But not necessarily sites using google ads. Report them to google, or whoever owns the ad service. Using the logic of ads being included in the decision of how appropriate it should be, no site can be linked. But it is against the CG to link sites that have inappropriate content, such as Twitter. I don't support as this could lead to plenty of artists not getting credit for their work since people who are using Picrew pfps (including me *cough* *cough*) would be unable to actually credit properly. As long as the specific picrew being linked is appropriate I don't really see a problem.

Yes. I'm well aware there are inappropriate ads, but it's been a while since I've seen one and Youtube's utility outweighs the danger of possibly seeing a questionable ad. Than, you know what ads are there, right?
Makes sense. Guess you take this one. But not necessarily sites using google ads. Report them to google, or whoever owns the ad service. Using the logic of ads being included in the decision of how appropriate it should be, no site can be linked.
I don't think they run ads on the CS first website. But, Google runs GOogle ads.But CS First doesn't have any ads??? Google cs first is controlled by google, I can see this totally being an issue :skull:

That wasn't the point, just find the sites which are linkablehttps://trends.builtwith.com/websitelist/Google-AdsenseWhich of these can be linked on Scratch?
Scratch respects both political wings One site that I immediately see on that list that would likely not be allowed to link is foxnews.com.
There are image ads on the side bar, and it doesn't really matter anyway. If the site is innapropriate for most cases, Scratch will ban it YouTube has much more utility to the average person than Picrew and the ads are generally videos instead of images, which might be moderated differently.

Than, the utility of a popular image host has utilities outweighing the dangers of seeing a questionable ad?Yes. Nor did I say that. But, if they block sites just for using google ads, than why not restrict Google’s CS First program?I don't think they run ads on the CS first website. But, Google runs GOogle ads.But CS First doesn't have any ads??? I'm not going to search through a dump of thousands of sites to find one. If you think a site is linkable, then you should point it out (or even link it)! That wasn't the point, just find the sites which are linkablehttps://trends.builtwith.com/websitelist/Google-AdsenseWhich of these can be linked on Scratch?
Fox News is not banned because it is right-wing, but because it shows inappropriate images and topics for kids. Most people would agree that stories about murder would not be appropriate for young children. And we've already settled the matter about the ads there.Scratch respects both political wings One site that I immediately see on that list that would likely not be allowed to link is foxnews.com.
See the post above that addresses this. There are image ads on the side bar, and it doesn't really matter anyway. If the site is innapropriate for most cases, Scratch will ban it YouTube has much more utility to the average person than Picrew and the ads are generally videos instead of images, which might be moderated differently.

I assume you're referencing TinyPic.Than, the utility of a popular image host has utilities outweighing the dangers of seeing a questionable ad?Yes. In that case, an alternative was easily found, Cubeupload. I'd say YouTube has a monopoly on the video industry as it's by far the largest site for its purpose. But sure, we could ban YouTube. I never link directly to it anyway.
I don't see why there's a reason to restrict it, CS First doesn't have ads.Nor did I say that. Vimeo exists. And does CubeUpload have a monopoly on image hosting? Microsoft Stream also exists, and may be better.I assume you're referencing TinyPic.Than, the utility of a popular image host has utilities outweighing the dangers of seeing a questionable ad?Yes. Besides, how often is CubeUpload down, and how many people have to make an account there?

If it contains inappropriate content, why would you say the site instead of contacting the scratch team?
pointless topic.

Yet YouTube is more widely known than Vimeo or Microsoft Stream, with more people using it than alternatives. It's likely that something on Youtube isn't on any video hosting alternative. Vimeo exists. And does CubeUpload have a monopoly on image hosting? Microsoft Stream also exists, and may be better.

As for CubeUpload, I never said it had a monopoly on image hosting, I said that it was an easy alternative to TinyPic. Sorry if the wording was rough to understand. CubeUpload is up most of the time, with infrequent outages from time to time. Account creation isn't difficult or time consuming, but maybe the ST should have chose an easier alternative.
If it contains inappropriate content, why would you say the site instead of contacting the scratch team?
pointless topic.

Because some people want to link instead of ratting themselves out?
