Having A Featured Bar In Studios

This would be a neat feature.

Basically, the owner of the studio could feature important or cool projects in their studios, so people that were coming in could immediately see the best projects in the gallery, or something they must see before doing anything, besides the descriptions.

Any supporters?

Yes, this seems like a good idea. I’ve seen loads of studios with a section in the description which has the studio’s “featured projects” and it would be a whole lot easier if you could see the thumbnails of the featured projects.
However, it could annoy or upset some people that other people’s projects were chosen to be featured but I suppose that’s the same thing with featured projects on the front page and no one’s really that annoyed or upset about the front page. So I don’t see that being a huge problem.

I don’t think you should see the featured projects before the description, or the featured projects be the only thing you see when you first click on the studio, that could get quite in-your-face and if they’re just at the top then they should be noticeable enough.

Overall I support this suggestion.

I also made 2 mock-ups.
The view if you are the owner of the studio:

The view if you’re not the owner:

If anyone has any other ideas/opinions then please share them!
NOTE: This is not a necropost. Yes, the OP is from 2013 but this suggestion hasn’t been implemented yet and I’m being constructive. So therefore it’s not a necropost. Thanks :)

Support, this could be useful. Especially in studios where anyone can add projects.

I really like this idea (basically me saying “Support” without actually saying it)

With this, important projects containing rules and/or signups or whatever could be seen first in studios so people know how to act, or to simply just showcase projects.

There should be a limit of 3 featured projects in studios (or 4 if the layout suggestion is accepted) to prevent people having to scroll down miles just to see the most recent projects added to the studio

Semi-support. My only concern is that the bar might distract users from other projects in the studio.

Then maybe there should be a new tab for it next to the Projects tab. It gives more room to show projects and helps with the problem.

How about it's more like “Pinning” them, where you have one row (3, or 4 if that other suggestions gets implemented) of Pinned Projects which will always appear at the top. Only Managers should be able to pin and unpin projects.

I do support this, but the studio update made the display a lot bigger so some people won’t bother to scroll down and see the non-featured projects.

That's just the same thing with different wording. I don't see the point.

They had suggested the managers idea, rather than ‘only the studio owner’ in the OP.

I like the suggestion about managers being able to do it as well as the owner, since it would give more purpose to managers with the new update.

This would be useful if you wanted to showcase the best projects in a theme studio to projects about the studio etc. I think this would be useful - and I like @landofgreenandgold ‘s mock-ups. I think 6 should be the limit.

this would have a wide variety of uses, from showing the best projects in a studio, to the winner(s) of a competition, to showing the rules of an rp/collab/game. this would work best as a separate tab, so you could have several featured projects.

Limit could be 10 or 20
I think 6 would be a good limit (like @dertermenter said), because it’s divisible by 3 (the amount of projects in a row on a studio currently) and it’s not too many. Also 3 would be good so you can still see the non-featured projects.
If it’s something like 10 or 20 then it would look slightly off since 10 & 20 aren’t divisible by 3. It would also be way too many because otherwise there’s no point in featured projects if you feature lots of them.

Dang that mock-up looks good, i like it ot be added to scratch.

Support, it can be useful to pin a project to a studio.
It also can be used to tell what the studio is about (ie. a mario, zelda fanclub, ect ect.)

Support, this seems like a really good idea and can be helpful for showing examples of projects in themed studios. It can also be a good way to get unnoticed people more views on their projects. (like weekly featured projects) It could also be helpful in collab studios, if there is a project explaining everything that would usually get buried under all of those other projects and takes a lot of scrolling. That would be a problem if the studio was large. Pinning projects in studios would make it so much easier to organize.

Managers should also be able to change the featured projects
