Make 0.2 available to download on the website.

Even though 0.2 is a 0.X prototype version, it's a major prototype. An app for it would be kinda cool, and would give more Scratchers a taste of it's development. It also is pretty unique in design, with it's colorful GUI aspects. It also gives Scratchers some starter understanding on the Procedures(aka. Scripts/My Blocks/More Blocks…) Category. The
 script::hat
Block was also unique, as it is quite different from the Functions we have currently. I have made a mockup for modern design, too, considering the File blocks (
 file load ()::sensing
and
 file save () ::sensing
) would be a risk, so just getting a recreation of 0.2 instead, without them is a valid decison.

The light on the hat block shape is cool too, though it isn't really a Hat block yet…

The
 beep::sound
block was quite amusing to say the least, as it makes the error sound on your computer… except a few particular OSs.

There's a lot more stuff I haven't really covered… (eg. Media Category)

Honestly, they're not going to do it though since it's a prototype, and if they were curious, they could just look up “Development of Scratch” or “Scratch 0.2” instead.

But why? Why would you want a 17 year old scratch program that dosent even function correctly?

No support, scratch 0.2 was meant for beta purposes, and it wasn't meant to be released, so i doubt if scratch would ever release this version.

It was actually publicly released, as a beta tho

“Scratch 13Oct04 was the first release to be distributed publicly and had an interface resembling newer Scratch versions. It is sometimes called Scratch 0.2”

Yeah, but for testing purposes so people could test the beta site since it was new. And it's completely different to what Scratch is now that people would be confused using it. If they wanted to get it, they should just look up “Scratch 0.2” or “Development of Scratch 1.0” or “Beta Scratch” or something.

Doesn't mean that it should be added to the website as a download.

It's a pretty stable version too, but project files can't be opened in 1.x, due to the exclusive blocks, the .scratch format, etc.

Yeah because it's a beta version that's why they didn't add a feature for it to be opened in 1.x.

consider this, it's like making a 1.4 download during the 2.x era, and is basically the same thing; a 0.2 download during the 1.x era.
Brings support to that one windows 95 user who can't afford a good PC.

Also, saying

It doesn't open in later 0.x versions either

Likely since it was still in development.

Pre-2001.

https://scratch-mit-edu.ezproxyberklee.flo.org/scratch_1.4
It already supports XP and 2000 and old stuff… do you mean like 25-30 year old operating systems?? I think most people who would try this would be using virtual machines.

most users who can't afford Windows XP would appreciate it, due to their computer's possible 1994 GFX card likely not being strong enough for 1.0
