This will make Scratch way more interesting for kids who use Scratch in their schools! And will make using the computer even more fun. No need for those kids to rely on gaming platforms with limited games to play together if they can easily make their own multiplayer game

Before I clicked this post, I had a thought on my mind - that Ghandi is pretty much this, except that's not official - and before I read that it required being in an invite list, I was like “Cool! Now they went through their rejected suggestions for scratch and made an ENTIRE MOD off one suggestion (live editing)”.

Now that I realized it requires being in an invite list, I'm relatively sure it shouldn't be linked here (considering the ST's [the mods, not the programmers] stance on ANY website FULL-STOP that requires or otherwise asks for any form of email being sent)

EDIT: And (not to mention) there are already a few browser extensions out there that perform the same action, only based on Scratch (which means that you won't need an additional account).

Sounds exciting! (In the mean time, there are some addons that allow you to do this already)

So it's basically multiplayer scratch editor? Lol

I love the idea of JavaScript coding as well as block coding. Coco stories and art look great too; I can't wait to gain access!

coco seems to be serving an entirely different purpose though? it doesn't have profiles or project pages. its just the editor with some fancy realtime features.

At around 2:50 in the Introducing CoCo video it says that you can use the video only in a private space.

Suggestions forum users rejoice; you can stop making threads about a collaboration feature that tries to skirt the wording of the rejected suggestions page.

your concern is reasonable, but:

CoCo is being developed with a lot of love and care by a tiny team currently based at MIT in the Lifelong Kindergarten Research Group at the Media Lab.

which is the same place that scratch is being developed IIRC. it's probably not a shady corporation or something.

LLK is where Scratch was originally made. It's now maintained by the Scratch Foundation.

the scratch github repositories are still under the LLK organization, so I thought there might still be some relation.
