Automatic Deletion For Comments READ THE WHOLE THING
Automatic Deletion For Comments
Suggestion:
I suggest that there is a toggleable checkmark under your projects and profiles comments that - if activated - makes that Scratch automatically deletes every comment under the project/profile that contains a project link (scratch.mit.edu/projects/ ) to prevent advertising. It can be only enabled / disabled by the owner and if added to studios only be changed by the owner.
The message that the deleted comment would've generated would be deleted fot the owner too ( then the user123 commented blah ) message disappears and will not be shown in your message count.
This is important because it can prevent people to spam their project links around to get more attention and prevents spam by making advertising unattracive and helps by making that people that are for example featured don't get so many advertising messages.
Thank you for reading.

Not necessarily. It'll still be easy to spam “hey if you want to play good games click on my profile and check out my projects” support. ads would be gone in an instant.

So then once someone realizes their comment is deleted, they can make an entirely new comment and spam “hey if you want to play good games click on my profile and check out my projects” but the majority of ads would be deleted. it's better something than nothing.
And if someone actually starts out by saying “hey if you want to play good games click on my profile and check out my projects” then their spam is not deleted. Once all advertisers catch on to this strategy, it will not be true that this suggestion deletes “the majority of ads.”

true, but when you think about it like this, it makes sense:So then once someone realizes their comment is deleted, they can make an entirely new comment and spam “hey if you want to play good games click on my profile and check out my projects” but the majority of ads would be deleted. it's better something than nothing.

advertising barely works, and when it does, it's usually ads with links. if you remove the link, you just get ads. these ads will definitely not appear to work at all, so while all advertisers will probably switch to this method, most will probably stop since the reliability of getting views through ads has been lessened. in a way, you could say that the majority of ads have been deleted since most of the people who would post them will have decided to stop since it no longer works very well.
TL;DR;WTEMPMS ads that have links will get a lot more views than ads that don't. once people can only post ads without links, they'll no longer want to since it doesn't bring in as many views as ads with links do.

I suspect you have no proof of this, so I don't believe you. Clicking on a profile takes just as much work as clicking on a link. Also, just because you (allegedly) get advertising barely works, and when it does, it's usually ads with links. if you remove the link, you just get ads. these ads will definitely not appear to work at all, so while all advertisers will probably switch to this method, most will probably stop since the reliability of getting views through ads has been lessened.less views through ads doesn't mean advertisers will stop. Less views is still a nonzero amount of views, so in that sense, advertising would still work. The alternative is to not advertise — in which advertisers will believe that they get zero views — so therefore, attempting to advertise is more effective than not advertising at all.
As long as we're making claims about what people think, I would perhaps expect that ads with links are clicked on less than other ads, since perhaps Scratchers who see links in comments would immediately dismiss/ignore it as an ad without a second thought. On the other hand, comments without links in them would need to be read in order to determine that it is an ad, so at least you're getting people to read your comment.

Also click on my profile still mostly doesn't make you wanna see the projects of someone or get followers

If you needeed to first go to the user's profile, you probably think of more if you're interested enough on the project to search it up with a achance of just not finding it and if you have to describe it most users that see it are a) probably not so interested in what it is and the surprise effect what it could be that some advertisers use would be away b) not reading it when seeing it is an ad or c) not find it while searching.
Well, it's what I think.

There could be a filter for phrases like “my profile”. when that is on. Also, the filter should not apply to the project creator.

personally, I sometimes click on project links, but profile ads (“go to my profile for cool games”) are something im never interested in, as me being lazy I dont wanna click more then once (not to mention it takes an entire 3-6 seconds for the page to load)I suspect you have no proof of this, so I don't believe you. Clicking on a profile takes just as much work as clicking on a link. snip- snip-
And I do believe that more people are lazy just like me

What if it's a contest project, or something that you are supposed to say the project link on? What if they accidentally press it?

Well, you can enable or disable it and you can also see if you accidentally clicked it you can disable it everty time, not like the send button of comments where you cannot revert it. What if it's a contest project, or something that you are supposed to say the project link on? What if they accidentally press it?
