Oh yes, I do in fact want 50 classes and 100 methods to do a very simple task, why thank you Java enthusiasts for such an in depth answer on this amazingly simple topic!

I really hate topics like this because they encourage people to ‘slander’ tools that, no matter what their warts, can be incredibly useful. People hate Java all the time but it's still one of the most used programming languages ever. Same deal with JS, Python, and other languages.

That being said, yes, Java design patterns are stupid and it feels like every OOP language has a different definition of what OOP should be.

The point of this topic is for light hearted jokes really, it's not meant to downplay other languages, it's just to poke fun at them.

Going to the overside of the world with a butterfly, and letting it flap it's wings, which causes a tornado on the other side of the world to form, which does just enough damage for a painting to fall on your keyboard, programming!

I agree with you! The last time I made a topic like this, it ended up getting closed within a matter of hours.

It's mostly supposed to be lighthearted poking fun at things, not really trash-talking them. That's what slander memes are about and what this topic is about.

All I ask is to not be actually mean. For example, calling Java programmers fat, or something.
