This suggestion isn't just about pronouns in comments
I know you’re not talking to me but I want to say in the quote the user quoted, I didn’t mean to say you were hating on anything!!Uhhh… I support this… sorry if it came off as hate or something I totally agree. This topic is getting lots of unnecessary hate.

Maybe read the post again? Some people have slower devices and/or have a lot of tabs open. So this could help those people Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see why you wouldn't just click on their profile if you want to read their about me.

Ima repeat again but it’s still not hard to open a profile, even if you have a lot of tabs or your device is slow.Maybe read the post again? This suggestion has had a lot of mixed opinions, and a lot of people have started debates about it, but I'll just state the obvious. This suggestion would be very low on the Scratch Team's priority list if it were to get implemented. It's lots of coding that the small Scratch Team would have to do, just to save us users 1 CLICK. This isn't a priority, and it doesn't help the majority of users very much. It also promotes laziness among users who are too lazy to just click on someone's profile.
This suggestion simply isn't necessary If you don't know someone's pronouns, either click on their profile to see if they put them in their about me, or just use they/them. Putting in someone's whole entire about me isn't necessary at all.

Yes but what if you're like me and you think all the open tabs are important. If people have a lot of tabs on their devices, they can simply just close them.Maybe read the post again? Some people have slower devices and/or have a lot of tabs open. So this could help those people Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see why you wouldn't just click on their profile if you want to read their about me.
Also there are people who don't like they/them being used for them at all

We aren't suggesting the entre about me in your face. Just in a small button.

This suggestion would be would be to reduce the need of a click, but it's also because most people don't read the About Me at all because of the extra click. For example you'll probably read more people's forum signatures than click onto their profile to read their About Me.

Sorry guys, I need to edit the OP to state this…
As -Zorra- said, the basis of it is that this will encourage more people to read the About Me as opposed to saving a click for the people who do.
Actually, do you mind if I quote that to put in the OP?

Let me ask the obvious question: Is it worth it for the Scratch Team to use resources and time to develop a button that will show your about me, even though it already is on your profile?
I say no. The profile has more things that can tell you more about a person then a bit of text can.

Would it really take a lot of time to implement? All they have to do is change the format of which comments are made and pull from some already existing api. Let me ask the obvious question: Is it worth it for the Scratch Team to use resources and time to develop a button that will show your about me, even though it already is on your profile?

If your only point to defend your suggestion is if it really would take too much time, then you are basically agreeing that the profile shows more about a person then an about me ever will. So therefore people should just click the profile picture. And for you guys who are saying it would help those with slow devices and people with a lot of tabs open, I have 2 things to say:Would it really take a lot of time to implement? All they have to do is change the format of which comments are made and pull from some already existing api. 1. If the device was actually really slow (though most aren’t), Scratch wouldn’t open in the first place.
2. You can just click the profile picture and hit the back arrow. Go and tell me that’s “inconvenient”. It’s not.

uhm… no, I'm not. The about me is one of the only places where there is really any info about you on your profile. I suppose your WIWO could be used for this too, but it isn't used as much as the About Me for stuff like that. After all, it is called an About Me for a reason. If your only point to defend your suggestion is if it really would take too much time, then you are basically agreeing that the profile shows more about a person then an about me ever will.
Also, you didn't answer my question, so I think that says something about your arguments as well.
1. I'm sure scratch would still load, just take an agonizingly long time to do so. 1. If the device was actually really slow (though most aren’t), Scratch wouldn’t open in the first place.
2. You can just click the profile picture and hit the back arrow. Go and tell me that’s “inconvenient”. It’s not.
2. It is if you're on a slow device. Even if you aren't on a slow device, it would help be a constant reminder of whatever is in someone's about me. You may forget it and need to skim it often to remember some stuff about them.

Semi-support | I do think this is a good idea but it has a few cons, some people have styles on their profiles, for example my old about me was something like this:
––––––––––––––––And probably that would break the sistem. Maybe you could add an about me for your profile and an about my comment but it would probably be confusing. So I'm not really sure wether to support or not

This is a good idea, but it discounts one of this suggestions pros; that the information needed already exists. Pulling from the information on the about me is WAY easier to implement than adding a whole new text box. Maybe you could add an about me for your profile and an about my comment but it would probably be confusing.

Sorry. Thought you were just defending your suggestion. Didn’t realize you were actually asking. Sorry. But to answer your question, it might not take too long or use too many resources but it’s still time to be put into something that you can achieve with a click. Also, you didn't answer my question, so I think that says something about your arguments as well.
1. If it takes too long, I assume you wouldn’t bother trying to open a new tab anyway. 1. I'm sure scratch would still load, just take an agonizingly long time to do so.
2. It is if you're on a slow device. Even if you aren't on a slow device, it would help be a constant reminder of whatever is in someone's about me. You may forget it and need to skim it often to remember some stuff about them.
2. If you “forget it” (though it’s not a song you need to memorize) you can just open said person’s profile.
