Can I say "fudge" as a replacement for... you know.

Jusk askin'. Before you wonder why I would even ask such a question it's Bcuz some people think swear sound-alikes encourage actual swearing, and if that's true, I won't say stuff like “What the fudge!” when commenting. I know “fudge” shouldn't be censored, Bcuz if sumbudy sed “I ate some delicious chocolate fudge for dessert!” then it would be annoying to get unessicarily muted. this site is used by 8 year olds, so i want to know if it is okay to say this.

Where did you get this idea? Isn't “heck” a word to be used in replacement of more vulgar language? The Scratch Team doesn't censor comments like “What the heck.” If I said “Oh, apples” to express disappointment/worry in place of more vulgar language, I don't think I would get an alert for that.

Heck is another way to say hell, which is allowed on Scratch.

Who's to say that “fudge” (or, likewise, “apples”) is not being used in place of “hell”? Note that “heck” also shares a couple of letters with the infamous “f-bomb” — I imagine some people use “heck” as a replacement for that “f-bomb” all the time (I sure do!). But when someone says “What the heck,” there is no indication of which word they are using “heck” to replace it with.

“fudge” ‘s exact purpose was 2 replace f-bomb. Saying “fudge” aloud could easily be misheard as ((((( *BLEEP* ))))) but saying “heck” wouldn’t. I hope U understand now.

I say frick all the time and it's allowed on Scratch. As a matter of fact it's a rejected suggestion to censor the word. So fudge should also be allowed.

Since frick is allowed I would think so.

Do not use it as a replacement for bad words. Using it in other ways like “Fudge is very yummy!” is allowed though.

What is this argument? You don't NEED to say fudge as a substitute for that word. Instead, just stick to mild language. Besides, there are young kids on the site. THERE IS NO NEED TO SAY FUDGE.

How is “heck” or “flip” any more mild than “fudge”?

I’m not sure but i think it’s allowed, it’s like “heck” and that’s allowed, so i think “fudge” is allowed too

If you can say frick, I don’t see why you couldn’t say fudge…

It's probably allowed given that the word “frick” is allowed. The word “frick” is a means to replace the word. However, the word fudge can be used to replace the word or to express a food item. If frick is allowed, so is fudge.

But I think that has to do more with the uses of the words anyway rather than the actual words themselves. It's like how the word “gun” is allowed but saying “Imma pull out a gun and kill you” is bad.

Well, I think even if you are saying fudge instead of a bad word you are saying that you are saying the word in a different way, and if you think that, you don't have to write it.
