What are official remixes?

• Official remixes are remixes that the creator of the project has approved to become official
  There are 5 that show up on the side bar that the creator can choose as well.

What does an official remix do?

• On the page for an official remix it would be noted that it is official near the remix credits.
  Only official remixes would show up on the remix sidebar, but all remixes can be viewed by pressing “View All” and official remixes would show up first
  

Official remixes wouldn't take away from the educational value of Scratch.

Comment support/no support and why!

Would there be a maximum number of 5 official remixes, since only 5 projects can show up on the bar.

There can be any amount of official remixes it's just that the creator picks which 5 show up on the sidebar

oh ok. I'm not sure on this one, while it wouldn't give any educational value, it would certainly stop a few of those “first” remixes.

Technically all remixes are “official.” I do like this idea, though. Maybe it should be called something like “Creator's picks” or something along those lines to emphasize that the project creator is selecting which remixes are displayed.

That's an award-winning name idea there. “Creator's Picks”. Honestly, it sounds like something I would see on a café sign.

Yeahhh, this actually sounds like a better name for this sort of situation. This is a very good idea! Support!

Support, sounds cool, and could help get late remixes noticed rather than the remix page just being filled with “first remix!!!!!”

This is a great idea, this could also be used for showing remixes from another of your accounts, or the next update in a collab, so support!

That is a really good name for this. Support! I could see this being useful for creators who want to display remixes that they have an interest in.

I didn't originally see many reasons to implement this, but now that you brought that up, I think this suggestion could definitely bring many benefits to the community.

Since the project creator would be able to highlight remixes that they particularly enjoyed, the remixes featured would probably have multiple changes from the original project. In turn, this would help emphasize embracing remix culture, making meaningful changes in remixes, and it would foster creativity, due to the large percentage of Scratchers seeing those constructive remixes.

Another benefit of this is that it would discourage “(insert number) remix” projects, which tend to either be exact copies of or completely different from the original project, along with not really having any significant creative value.

Overall, this has the potential to be a great addition to Scratch, and I hope it will end up being implemented sometime in the future.

This could be called Creator's Picks as Za-Chary said, and it would stop those first remixes from getting the spotlight. I can see many uses for this.

This could actually prevent some “first,” “second,” “third,” etc. and remixes that are the exact same. Like Za-Chary said, it could be called Creator's Pick which could make it better. Support!

I like the idea of doing something to fix the fact that the first remixes are going to be the most popular as they are the easiest to see so if a the creator of a project can highlight some of their favourite projects it will help some amazing remixes shine through.Also this reminds me of my suggestion

That suggestion is talking about sorting remixes. This suggestion talks about, well, “Offical Remixes”
