I'm suggesting that instead of showing how long you've been on scratch, show when you joined!

I'm suggesting this because the count is kind of off.

So instead of being this:

I also think this would be a good idea because:

I don't actually live in Mexico ;)

I like this idea. making it more detailed is better and less math involved

I think this is a great idea!
It confuses me seeing the current text which does not specify when you have joined Scratch.
Also, the current way is to use Scratchstats, and that is not convenient.
It's hard trying not to use contractions in sentences like that.

This could be nicer if you needed to know the precise date for some about me project or something, but other than that i dont see much use

Eh, I prefer the timing. I don't see any problem with the current system, perhaps something can be put elsewhere (maybe in the settings of the user) of when they joined?

No support. Currently, you Need to hover over the text (this text) and it will Show the exact date, it offers both and I prefer it so. (Yep it works in IE)

most people don't know you can do that though, that's the thing.

No support, I just like it better this way. I think it should either say both or how long ago someone joined. That way a user can go “Oh! I've been on Scratch for 3 years now!”

If this was implemented would comment dates be changed to when it was posted rather than how long ago it was? Would the studio activity tab also change? If not it would make the website very inconsistent. Overall, the current method is used in all parts of Scratch (apart from the forums, but it makes sense to see the date as discussions are much longer-lasting, and the forums are kinda separate from the main site) so changing it will take a lot of work, with the benefits not really outweighing this (Why is this useful or beneficial to Scratch?)

Also there are other ways to view when a user joined. If you hover over someone's username you can see the exact date of when they joined, and you can also check someone's joindate in scratchstats.com
