My sugestion - new emoticon

Hi there!

So yes, I put forward my proposal when I saw a sugestion to create an icon symbolizing #StandWithUkraine. I think this idea is good, however Scratch is a programming platform for kids and teens, not a political platform. Therefore, my suggestion is to create an emoticon that symbolizes peace in the world. It would be general and not put into a specific conflict. It would not cause problems, because world peace is a matter for the whole world and it is important to everyone. What do you think about it?

Maybe just a peace sign? It’s simple and easy to design. Or were you thinking about something different or more complexed then that?

I haven't thought about the graphics in detail yet, but it would definitely be a symbol of world peace. (Maybe it would be on our planet?) Like: The background is the Earth, but “in front of it” is this symbol. But only peace symbol is also very nice idea

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking about

This would probably be the best option.

Honestly, I’m really neutral on this. I suppose this would be a great emoji to have, and I could think of so many ways I’d use it. However, I’m a bit hesitant on a few things. Namely, I believe we have a lot of emojis already.

I can agree with you, there are a lot of them-, but for example, such an emoticon would appear next to _ peace _ (without spaces)

I love that idea! Maybe it could be something simpler, like a hand doing a peace sign? I don’t know, maybe what you were talking about would be better ^^’

I think it is absolutely amazing!! peace is what we really need right now.

@Euglena73 I completely agree about the world peace thing. I have quite a lot of friends at school that actually have relatives is Ukraine. The teachers don't talk about it much because obviously that could make things uncomfortable for those who do have relatives in Ukraine. I think a peace emoticon would be good.

This is a great idea indeed. No joke, I strongly agree on a peace symbol with all that’s going on in the world, like they did with BLM using the other emoticon! Maybe someone could give ST the idea on their profile or try emailing them? That would be a good idea!
