Epileptic warnings
I know that the amount of flashing lights that could trigger seizures varies from person to person, but what would be the baseline? what would be enough flashing lights to be considered needing a warning? this is awfully vague, and could a project with tons of clones that are constantly moving that produces a strobe-like effect but not outright flashing lights be considered bad? wouldn't there need to be some legal stuff for having warnings like these? what would somebody do if they werent sure something could cause a seizure?

Excellent question, people should turn on epileptic warning if the project contains any flashing (doesn't have to be something like a flashbang), even the minor ones, it should be marked “flashing lights” I know that the amount of flashing lights that could trigger seizures varies from person to person, but what would be the baseline? what would be enough flashing lights to be considered needing a warning? this is awfully vague, and could a project with tons of clones that are constantly moving that produces a strobe-like effect but not outright flashing lights be considered bad? wouldn't there need to be some legal stuff for having warnings like these? what would somebody do if they werent sure something could cause a seizure?
Edit: My 1000th post according to Ocular, does anyone know why is there a minor difference between your post count on Scratch and Ocular?

By the way, is this automatic or does the project creator have to turn this warning on?

This is a bit extreme. If feel like it shouldn’t be reportable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she's talking about reporting a project for having a false epileptic warningThey can This is a bit extreme. If feel like it shouldn’t be reportable.quite easily, kill people. At least unshare the project with a warning, maybe not instaban.

If extreme violence is reportable (which I fully agree with), why shouldn't we also make something like this reportable? It's far more dangerous than violence as one of these projects could directly kill a person This is a bit extreme. If feel like it shouldn’t be reportable.

I forgot to say you can also report a project if it does thatI also saw this post
Actually no, how would you know if a project doesn't have flashing lights? It might do contain flashing lights but it has to be triggered by special gameplay (like throwing a flashbang grenade)
True, it could save their lives.
If abused, just report it.

Imagine a game getting marked as “no flashing light” as ST after numerous reports and an epileptic person starts playing it, it's all fun and games till the enemy throws a flashbang… True, it could save their lives.
If abused, just report it.

Support. Although the ‘i am epileptic’ setting may not be necessary as people may forget to turn it on/accidentally turn it on, it's definitely important to have a warning.

I support, however from my rather brief and limited knowledge of epilepsy, not everyone with epilepsy is sensitive to flashing lights, and I would therefore change the tickbox option to something more along the lines of “I am sensitive to flashing lights” - please do correct me if this information about epilepsy is wrong though, and take the information with a grain of salt. Thanks!

Yes, for some people with epilepsy, but not all. I'm just suggesting that the wording be changed so that the tickbox is not inclusive of those with epilepsy who are not photosensitive.
