#53 #203 #211 #232On another topic: Lightnin, I'm pretty sure there's a problem with the deployment script, because none of my changes to CSS or JS files are present on this server.
Ah - ok, I suspect that it needs to restart nginx, or whatever is in charge of caching those. I'll experiment and get back to you.

Hey! I just joined the Alpha today and whenever I try to post a topic I get
“Internal Server Error”
with no further details.

shadow_7283That happened to me once, but I tried posting later and it worked.

And I guess you can't make a post in Bugs and Glitches about it.

Hey, just wondering…
I'm trying to learn Django, and once I get good at it, can I provide code patches?

jvvgI'm making a guide that will help you set up DjangoBB's sample project with the ScratchR fork of DjangoBB, which allows you to test on a local server. I haven't updated since I did a lot more work on my local server to get it to match the Alpha site's setup, though, so when I have time I'll update it and give you a link.

So: It's certainly a possibility, which is one reason why we put the forum code on github. However: people should be careful about expectations. Just because someone submits a patch doesn't mean we'll accept it. We have to 1) agree on the need for the feature or fix, 2) be able to understand the code clearly, 3) have the time to test it before deploying. As the codebase matures, we'll be less and less likely to accept patches.
It also *really* helps to keep things as organized as nXIII does, commit wise. Just saying: nXIII is setting a high bar, and people should be aware of that before submitting patches.

We just pushed lots more patches to the 2.0 forums, courtesy of nXIII. Thanks!
(By the way - this would be a good time to clear your cache. You should see some nice formatting changes.

Just reverted an earlier commit that seemed to break the (new posts) functionality. Best to clear your cache. Hopefully new posts will start working again!
